Here is a recap
We like our team
We want to push the pace
Bayless is a hard worker
Travis did great in the playoffs
We like Steve Blake
We are going to be aggressive on draft day
Nate did an outstanding job with this young team
We are right where we want to be
We are looking at guys who fit our culture
We will be active in free agency, but that doesn't mean we will neccessarily add a player because we like our team.
The fans of Portland have supported us all year
The Darius Miles situation is behind us

haha, I will be anxious to see how close I was.

A very different interview. Did not really talk about Portland much - mostly about general issues relating to the current playoffs and the like:
Cuban - emotional game - what is said is hyped up, nerves are exposed - it's about the fan experience
Are we reaching a point where PGs are more important than bigs?
- KP - to win at the highest level - you have to have some kind of length and the ability to hold position and get the rebounds - teams that are winning the rebounding wars are mostly winning in the playoffs - but it is hard to argue that great point guards are very important.
- Pick and Roll - LMA can guard on the perimeter about as good as any good in the league.
- Nuggets vs. Lakers - Denver's offensive fire powre is as good as anyone's. Could be a clash of styles. If the Nuggets continue to shoot the way we do now - hard to argue against them
Recap:
Were totally fucked if that is true.
Care to elaborate?
Well lets see if you can put it together
At the trade deadline: We are not ready to give up on Outlaw yet. We want to see how he does in the playoffs.
Today's Recap: Outlaw did great in the playoffs.
Anybody want to guess the over/under on the number of times he mentions the words, "culture", "aggressive", and/or "great kid"

No, Outlaw fucking stunk in the playoffs. Period. What I am seeing from KP seems to indicate to me, that he is too loyal to the guys he has here, and that has me worried. He may be speaking doublespeak, but for some reason, I don't think so. If the GM of the team is too loyal to the players, and is unwilling to make a move because of it, the Blazers may never make that move needed to get them into a position to compete at the highest level, and they will be stuck as they are.
Sorry Hasoos, I was totally joking. I thought everyone would have gotten that. I have no idea what he said because I didn't listen to it.

That recap was a joke, dude. Like... literally.
Ed O.
In all fairness, I heard KP say exactly that in an interview. That is not a joke.

Honestly, I read that thinking it WAS actually what he said.
In any KP interview there is a good chance of him saying that.

does anyone really miss the days of John Nash playing all of his cards face up? When a GM trashes his players publicly (like JN did several times) it makes matters worse internally with the club/players even if it makes peon fans in the know of what he's really thinking. A GM bashing his own is akin to pissing in his own pool. Better for the GM to spin sunshine to allow him the maximum options of making the unspoken moves he might like to make.In any KP interview there is a good chance of him saying that.

Yep KP does it the right way. I just think it's funny that people get excited when he is on the roadio for an interview because he never says anything.
wow thats news to me... do you have a link for that? Are you kidding me? Many come on this site to see waht other fans have to say about the Blazers. If the GM of the Blazers is going to speak, even if you know he is guarded and will not reveal much, why wouldn't I take time out to listen to waht he has to say (especially given the amount of time many of us spend on this site).
The interview I listened with KP, he revealed that the Blazers will be picking up the options on Travis and Blake. If I just read this board, I would swear the Blazers were not going to pick up the option years on Outalw and maybe even Blake.

depending on where the salary cap line is set, this may put many of the FAs we talk about out of financial reach

I don't have a link. What I recall from the interview was that the Blazers have to decide by June 30, if they are going to pick up the options for Blake and Outalw and he fully expects the team will pick up the options on both. he then said priorities 1 and 1A after that (can't resign until July 1) is to lock up Roy and Aldrdige long term.
Of course when brought up if the Blazers are going to make a major move this summer, KP said they will be very active this summer but he doesn't think a major move is necessary (classic KP).
KP didn't make it sound like there was much thought going on about picking up the options for Travis and Blake. That doesn't mean they won't be traded . . . in this economic times, maybe a Blake or Outlaw (at 4 mil/yr) looks very attractive to other teams.
