KP on the radio...........

I could see why KP deserves the benefit of the doubt. So far he has only made one bad call . . . and almost every other GM would have taken Oden as well. :D

Oh, and I love this board much better than that old board. Glad I found you guys.

This thread is a example A of how many tools there is in this forum! :biglaugh:

KP is saying he thinks the market will be more conducive to a better deal for the Blazers later vs. today.

Well no duh. I've only been saying that all day while trying to walk you off of the bridge. ;)

If the deal was Gerald Wallace and Nazr Mohammed for RLEC and Batum, and we didn't do it... :sigh:

If the team didn't do that deal, I think KP should be GM for life. Now trade Outlaw or Webster for Wallace in the off-season while under the cap if that's the deal the team wants, and let Batum blossom as a bench player for a year or two.

I admit I'm an odd duck, but I love Draft Day. I like having extra picks.

Trying to be more rational about it: KP and his team are great at the draft b/c they are able to do a lot of homework, especially on the psychological/mental side. Can't really do that with established players, though the longer they go the more they'll be able to build up a dossier on everyone in the league.

Culture's a big deal for them. I can see them not trading for Sean Williams, even though I (like most) may say something to the effect of "who cares who our 14th man is and what he does or how he acts"? But for KP--if you're not sure on someone, and you're unable to put them through your own battery of interviews and tests, it may not be worth the risk of trading, say, Travis or Batum or Rudy (people who meld well w/our team's culture) for someone that you don't have a good handle on, even if they're a great player.

KP follows the Spurs' model on organizational culture, and he has an owner that is willing to spend to win. I don't see what the problem is at all. :dunno:
