Exactly, and as anyone who has League Pass can tell you, the stands are empty around the league and financial planning is more important now that in has ever been. This is about money...and with the economy in a tailspin, there will be a lot of similar decisions.

Because you would see discomfort and a change of his shot, wouldn't you?

A dentist could see that he had the same form and everything when he was shooting.
 
Well, if everything was the same on his shot, why did it go in at a much lower rate? Something must have been going on there.

Looks to me like he was just across the board worse, but the biggest thing is that he was moved out from playing close to the basket to taking jumpers.

I think the problem with Krstic was his confidence. He looked nervous to bang with his knee or even to turn fast. It was a freak injury in which nobody touched him and I'm sure the pain was unbearable so being a little shy from contact not wanting to re-injure that knee was maybe on his mind. Maybe his knee did affect his shot but I assume you would have seen something different or a akward landing coming down but none of those happened.

He was just very inconsistant last year and I'm going to say his confidence was dead. If he has gotten that up playing with Serbia and in Russia, then you might have something.
 
Yeah, the fact he didn't want to get close to the basket looks like a giveaway to me. Of course, that's due to his knee, but it's part me and part head.

Krstic had the same injury as Nene right? Nene has come back strong from his injury so Krstic could be worth the risk of matching the Thunders offer and bringing him back if they can't get a sign and trade.

Krstic, when healthy, is an excellent offensive player who has a post game and an excellent jumpshot. Krstic, when coming off of injury and has his confidence down, is a mess because his offensive game isn't what it was and his defense, which was already average to mediocre, stands out more and he becomes a liability. But with that said, I'd rather have Krstic then Boone, who I feel is not a good player and not going to develop much.
 
I've liked the way Boone has been playing lately, or for the whole year for that matter. Sure his foul shooting still stinks, but even that has improved. He even has aquired a mid range jump shot that i've seen him hit a few times this year. See ya Kristic, i think Boone has more upside at this point in time.

Healthy Krstic is better than any stretch of Lopez this year. Lopez is not even a legit 3rd option at this point. Krstic had games before going down where he was putting up better production than RJ and Carter.

Lopez not being legit? I think Lopez is fully capable of being our 3rd option as he is our only inside presence. it's not his fault Devin doesnt pass to him when he's wide open. But then again Frank doesn't know how to utilize his bigs anyway, he only prefers guys who can shoot from afar.

Being capable doesn't mean he is, or was. Krstic was the 3rd option night after night, out producing RJ and Carter at times too. When one of their games was off, Krstic stepped up, or was counted on to. Lopez is not that player... yet, might be. And while you knock Frank's development of Lopez, he did play Krstic.

I think people are underrating what Krstic did for the Nets in his short time on the team.

Krstic also had the luxury playing behind a pass first HOF guard. but yes Krstic was key in several areas but in speaking in terms of Offense only, yes he did step up. I believe Lopez has that same ability, grant it he's still learning as the season goes, esp. now teams are quickly double teaming him. i mean they must double team him for a reason right? Lopez was owning Cs who were considered average and played very well against the "top tier" Cs

before the season i actually (ESPN forum) responded the drafting of Lopez is drafting a more aggressive Krstic version, i thought Lopez would be a jump shooting big man. HOWEVER i was WAYY wrong, their games are opposites, Lopez likes to stay close to the rim while Krstic preinjury was all over the floor. Lopez will be that 3rd (was hopin for YI but mehh), i would to wait for him to have another breakout game before i can really continue this convo(i think i have what 3 or 4 breakout games to back me up? not enough yet)

The whole Frank bashing (i apologize but i will continue till i see significant improvement from a coaching standpoint) is that what the team had lack for years was a true C or a true Big. Sometimes it was also just an inside post scorer... well now we have one, not just any post scorer but a young player with actually post up skill that is not shy to draw contact/foul. we finally have a guy to throw down low and let him create via shot or outlet pass.... where is he? on the freakin bench... Frank, IMO, fails and fails to utilize his rare true advantages in games and plays into the other coach's plan. for that FRank is a waste... he did let Krstic play this true but i feel that just had to do with Krstic being able to knockout shots from outside which is a plus Frank's favorite attribute of a player.
 
Krstic unseating Lopez looks wildly optimistic to me. Last year he was relatively awful, and Lopez looks really good.

Today is the deadline, isn't it?

if he comes back and starts next to Lopez and becomes close to as good as we were before, though, our team starts to look dangerous.
 
btw, for all those who mention about Krstic being the PF, sure that looks ok on the O side, but correct me if wrong, wouldn't he get blasted on the D side of the ball? he does not have the foot speed at all at least YI can run with them lol
