Kurt Thomas to the Nets?

Kurt Thomas would be a great fit for us. He is capable of 10 and 10 in every game, plus he isn't doing too good off the bench for the Suns. I think he would take alot of pressure of Nenad Krstic and Mikki Moore.

But who do we give up for him besides Jason Collins?

I don't know about that. He isn't the same Kurt Thomas on the Knicks - he's much older. At the start of next season he'll already be 35 years old. Needless to say, he does not have many more productive seasons left in him. To top it off, he's been having some injury problems the past couple of years. The only benefit I see from acquiring Thomas is the fact he is expiring. But that doesn't make much sense since the Suns are looking to shed salary, and trading an $8 million expiring contract isn't the way to go. Unless it's for a second rounder or two, I don't see many teams with cap space that will be eager to acquire Thomas.

Well it looks like Rod Thorn wants to "win now" and not care about our future which is why he might be looking at this deal. But I still think that Thomas has a few more years left in him, enough for the Nets to be a top team like they were predicted to be last year and this year.

If Kurt Thomas gives us a good 25 mpg, which he can do, he'll be fine. He fits perfectly in the offense. He, like Krstic has a sweet jumper to make a nice living on. He's also strong to combat the stronger forwards in this league. If he gives us anywhere int he neighborhood of 11/7, he'll be great.
