L*kers: Ranking The Threats In The Western Conference

The Portland Trail Blazers took down the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets to play the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, where they eventually got swept. That was without their starting Center in Jusuf Nurkic, who was replaced by Enes Kanter. Portland has practically that same roster with the deduction of Enes Kanter and the addition of Hassan Whiteside.

Huh???

You see, outside of Dame and CJ, all the other players were basically interchangeable, so turning over half the roster really won't affect the team much on the whole.

Or so I've been told.

Jacob Wolkenfeld looks pretty much like every other message board geek with a keyboard and a take. Nothing wrong with that in general as the description fits most of us. Unfortunately, he didn't even take enough time to look at the Blazers' roster before determining that they're just a "wildcard" against the Lakers "juggernaut".

Guys currently on Lakers' roster who didn't play for the piss and purple last year: 11/16
Guys currently on Blazers' roster who didn't play for the Blazers last year: 6/14

That's all I'm saying Mr. Sensitive. ;)

Edited for accuracy about the Lakers' roster. Thanks, TBF!

I don't think this is right is it?
They had Lebron, Rondo, KCP, Javale McGee, Kuzma last year.

You're right, of course, but it doesn't fit my narrative so please shut up. ;)

Rondo, KCP and Javale McGee bounce around the league so much I forget where they're playing. Plus, we haven't seen the Lakers since the end of the regular season, so I've been blissfully able to ignore them up until now.

KCP bounces around the league so much he has been with a whooping 2 different teams !

Jacob W, and a bunch of Lakers fans, are delusional.

Every team on his list will stomp the Lakers. I seriously doubt the Lakers make the playoffs.

If Lebron is still Lebron and the injury / time hasnt taken him down a peg they’re gonna be really good, but not as invincible as they want us to believe.

Then you are delusional too. Lebron + AD + solid starting 5 will definitely make the playoffs

Psshhh. The Puce and Bile will play precisely 82 games next season.

Seems like everybody is overrating the clippers.

Me? I’m taking the stance of - “I’ll eat that crow if I have to, but I’m not going to have to.”

They beat GS two more times than the Blazers have in the Playoffs in the 3 years or something, and had major, major upgrades. They should be able to really lock up teams.

I'm actually getting more and more excited for this season.

Lakers will be a dumpster fire of disappointment. disappointment for their fans that is, it'll be endless LOL for the rest of us.

You sure about that my Kiwi friend? They have a lot of talent on that roster.

Lakers season to me depends on a few things.
Is Lebron back to being Lebron. If AD can be healthy. I think Cousins is done if Im being candid. He may give them some decent nights here and there but his defense was never great and now its just going to be bad, his game is going to need a lot of adjustments to being slow.

Talented yes if things play out right, but Id he more comfortable with the Clippers, Blazers, Nuggets, heck even Houstons rosters, even if their ceiling isnt as high talent wise.

Too much common sense for me to reply.
