D'Angelo Russell tapes private conversation with Nick Young without him knowing talking about women he got with and its gets posted to the internet. Laker teammates are all furious. Thats why they got blown out by 50 at Utah.

Some might think its just a silly TMZ story. But I think it's going to be a real bad deal long term for Russell and the Lakers. Teammates won't ever trust this guy, players won't want to sign and play with him and he won't have any trade value. Not having trust in a locker room is the ultimate chemistry killer.

Sources told ESPN.com that some teammates' trust in Russell is eroding after a video surfaced in the past week that shows Russell recording a private conversation between himself and teammate Nick Young. Young does not appear to realize he is being taped.

The video, which is believed to have come to light last week via the Twitter account of a celebrity gossip site, shows Russell filming Young while asking questions about Young being with other women. Young and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea announced their engagement last June.

While it's unclear how the video became public, sources say the resulting tension in the Lakers' locker room in recent days was among the factors that contributed to L.A.'s limp showing in Salt Lake City on Monday night, when they absorbed a 48-point pounding from the Utah Jazz. The loss was the Lakers' worst in franchise history.

The emergence of the video, sources said, has been the talk of the locker room for the past several days and has led to a tangible strain between Russell and some teammates.

At a recent breakfast meeting, one source said, no Laker would sit with Russell at his table. The source added that, in another instance, Russell came into the locker room and sat next to guard Lou Williams, who got up and walked away.

"It's bad," one team source told ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne. "It's about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already. Now there's no trust."

In the video, Russell asks Young at one point, "You was 30 and she was 19?" referencing Young's age and the age of another woman that Young said that he met in a nightclub.

"What about Amber Rose?" Russell later says, mentioning another celebrity.

"No, she knows my girl," Young is recorded as saying.

Later in the conversation, while apparently still recording, Russell is heard telling Young, "I'm glad you told my video all that."

"Huh?" Young says, turning his face toward Russell before the video cuts off.

Heh, and I was worried that Russell was going to be the next big superstar and return the Lakers to their prior glory. Guess I needn't have been concerned.

I can just see Simmons or Ingram telling the Lakers not to draft him because they don't want to play with Russell. That would be the ultimate epilogue to this story.

I've would really enjoy Philly picking #1 and #4 in the draft this year.

It would be a fitting end to this ridiculous Kobe farewell saga if the Laker fans get bupkis for the losses this year.

The Lakers would then keep their 2017 pick. But their 2018 pick would go to Orlando top5 protected and be completely unprotected in 2019.

So glad for the Nash and Dwight trades!

It looks like we might be in an era of Lakers misery that won't end anytime soon and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Feel bad for Iggy. But didn't this happen like 15 yrs ago?

Kobe snitched on Shaq or something

Man, wtf is going on these days?

Chick films Sterling and the league ousts him from his team.

Jahlil Okafor gets into fist fights and knocks people out.

Blake Griffin punches out the equipment guy and is out for like 2 months.

Kyrie's girl cheated on him and went back to her ex, who put up a photo of the two together in bed.

So much weird shit going on.

Iggy Azalea has a sex tape on the internet and it's not with Nick young.

I hope D'Angelo Russell's motivation was being a member of the Religious Right. That will make the Laker Civil War all the more delicious. Next season, I hope for 82 48-point Laker losses.

Ha ha. This is fun to research.

Coach Byron Scott has notoriously harped on Russell’s maturity, work ethic and attitude, and several team sources who spoke with Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News levied the same criticisms even before the video. Team officials see the video controversy as an example of the 20-year-old rookie’s immaturity, writes Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, though a source told Bresnahan that Lakers players have been pulling pranks on each other throughout the season. Russell shot the video a couple of months ago, Bresnahan hears, but it didn’t surface publicly until the gossip website Fameolous.com posted it a few days ago...

Russell didn’t mean for the video to become public, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders (Twitter link) and Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding (video link). Russell posted the video to Snapchat and quickly deleted it, thinking no one would ever see it, according to Ding, but sources tell Kennedy that Russell’s Snapchat account was hacked.

Russell will probably rejoin the starting lineup at some point after the All-Star break, but he and Scott aren't having daily talks about it. "No. He's not old enough for me to have a meeting with him to discuss 'What does he think?'" Scott said. "He's such a kid. I told him the other day, 'You're 19 but sometimes I think you're 14.'"

Same shit, different decade. Nothing is private anymore with social media.

Theres always been crap like this going on. Charles Barkely getting in bar fights throwing guys through glass windows. Karl Malone raping a 13 year old. Honestly I think the league has a lot less of this stuff today than 10, 20, 30 years ago.
