LaMarcus Aldridge - 3 defensive rebounds in 46min

LMA has already stepped up this season, and you're wasting your credibility on bashing the guy.

Good luck with that one.

Until someone can show me some defensive rebounding statistics that tell me I'm wrong about his rebounding up until this point, sorry, my argument is as credible as it gets.

Until then...

LOL

Yeah, I'm sure grabbing defensive rebounds would shave off over 3pts off of his ppg.

Riiiight

How about instead of being an asshole; you answer the question? I was asking a simple question, and I haven't confronted you once in this thread about wanting more rebounding. I already said I did.

But give me 10 current players averaging 10+ rebounds, while 20+ points. Oh yeah there aren't too many. So I guess it's a little harder than you think. Otherwise we would have at least 10.

Where did I saw I wanted Aldridge to average 20/10?

I said I want to see more defensive rebounding, used stats to back up my opinion, and I guess certain people can't handle the cold hard truth.

Show me where I'm wrong here.

Roytoy, LMA is averaging 7.3 rebounds this season. Asking him to add another 3-4 rebounds would put him at 10.3-11.3 rebounds. Then you mock me like I was stupid to think that just 3 more boards would lower his point total.

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/rebounds/sort/avgRebounds/year/2012/seasontype/2

There are only 10 players that have 10 or more boards a game. Out of those 10 players; only Howard, Love and Griffin scored 20 or over. Then look at Noah; whom is considered a good rebounder. He only has .4 more rebounds than Aldridge.

You act like 20/10 is simple. I guess you think 22/10 is easy right?

I asked would you like a 19.2/10 player? Then you said it was stupid to think 3 more rebounds would make his point suffer. Aldridge is averaging 7.3 rebounds. 3 more rebounds would be 10+ boards. In another thread, you said he was incapable of getting 10+ boards unless he played 40 minutes a night. Then you bitch that he got only 3; but still grabbing 10+.

AGAIN

When did I say I wanted him to average 10 rebounds? More than 10 rebounds? 20/10?

I said I wanted to see more DEFENSIVE REBOUNDING, and so far this season he's been a poor defensive rebounder for his position. That's it. I'm not sure what isn't clear about that.

So then lower offensive boards and up the defensive boards? So still have 7.3 or 8 boards but 5 defensive? Are defensive boards more valuable the offensive?

Not trying to argue what I think is more important. I want to know what's more important to you.

Aldridge is never going to rebound at an elite level. Most of the time, he is already heading down the floor when the ball is in the air on the shot. Some people simply don't have the internal make up or whatever to be great at rebounding the ball. That being said, Aldridge could add 1-2 more rebounds a game to his stats if he would grab the damn ball rather than playing tether ball with it.

Last year and the year before he was always very high on offensie boards. He rebounds offensively at an elite level, just not defensively. I agree that LA isnever going to be an elite rebounder on both sides of the floor. It takes something more then just talent to rebound, LMA is insanely talented but he isn't KG/Duncan expecting over 8.5 is probably asking to much.

It's plausible. Takes a lot of energy that could be used on the offensive end to grab boards. That's why I've always said we need a C to play along side LMA. + for a big man he gets a lot of points off fast breaks.

LMA

14 defensive rebounds in 38 minutes. NOT GONNA CUT IT!!! :MARIS61: :MARIS61: :MARIS61:

3 rebounds was when Camby was out and we desperately needed rebounds from Camby. Aldridge showed that night he's too soft to play center. Tonight was against a bad team missing its best player Bargnani who would have matched up against Aldridge. Irrelevant, dumb return of a thread.

+1

That said, nice to see Aldridge step it up.

I should be a motivational speaker

Irrelevant, dumb thread.

I agree. It was a stupid thread to begin with, considering LMA had 10 rebounds in the game that precipitated this irrelevant, dumb thread.

I am and have always advocated that lma has rebounding in him. I think I was kinda laughed at for it. But whatevs! Just all be happy that he can get to the next level.

Well, that does make more sense then you being an NBA analyst/expert.

NOT GONNA CUT IT!

Looks like you have an agenda to tend to. I'll step aside and let you pursue it.

When you're done you're welcome to intelligently discuss basketball again.

Until then....

"NOT GONNA CUT IT" = intelligent basketball discussion.

The best thing about this thread that after the Houston game that led to this stupid thread, Kevin McHale said "he's playing like an All-Star right now, and he's doing it every single night."

Who should I believe. Mr. NOT GONNA CUT IT, or an Basketball Hall of Fame PF? Hmmm...

I used facts and statistics to back up my opinion. 0 holes in my argument.

After you realized I was right (like always), it seems you got angry, and instead of trying to refute my arguments, you bumped the thread with no substance to disprove my original claims. Boring.

Basically I ran circles around you and you know it, so now you're doing whatever you can to save face. Understandable I suppose. No one likes to be completely wrong.

Again, LMA had 22 points/10 rebounds/5 assists/2 blocks/1 steal in the game that you decided to start this stupid thread.

Those are MVP numbers.

Great thread. Keep bumping it!

NOT GONNA CUT IT!!
