No chance in hell Portland trades Aldridge. So it's either hickson + Aldridge and a mid level player(s). I'm fine with that too.

I think you guys are changing his question. It was a simple question. Who would you rather have on this team if you could only keep one.

Right now we only have one starting-quality PF signed past this year. Everyone assumes it is a guarantee they could sign Hickson if we traded LMA. We don't know that. Especially if we traded LMA first. You trade LMA and you don't get a PF back, then JJ's agent starts doing back flips because he knows the leverage he has to demand a big pay day for Hickson just dramatically went up. Add two million on to what he is worth.

"If I could keep just one" sort of implies that there would be nothing coming back to compensate for the loss of one or the other. Easy as hell. LaMarcus and it aint even close.

Would I be willing to see either guy traded if the value was right? Well sure. The only players that are exempt from that kind of calculus are sure-fire MVP caliber guys and the Blazers don't currently have LeBron, prime Kobe or Durant on their roster.

Absolutely perfect example of why not to trade an all-star. Yes Barkley was a pain in the ass to deal with (especially at that time) but three good young players did not make up for what Chuck brought to the 76'ers.

At the time Perry, Lang, and Hornacek were all considered very good young players. At the time many thought Philly got the better end of the deal. But how often does it work out that way?

A perfect example of why the Blazers would be foolish to trade LMA for young (unproven) talent that would better fit in Lillard's "window".
