No I'm putting to rest the sky is falling cuz Aldridge wants to bolt, let's trade him for draft picks way of thinking

Did you not say that you would trade him for Wiggins if the deal was on the table?

Fuck yeah I would! And let's say the entire trade. Aldridge and Matthews for wiggins and Monroe. That's not because Aldridge is gonna bolt, it's getting a potential lbj type player and decent big.

Well then I don't understand why you think you need to put to rest the idea of trading him for draft picks when you have said that you would do the deal.

A lot of people have said they would deal him because of a number of different factors, not just because they think he's going to bolt. Some people are uncomfortable giving a guy who will be turning 30 next summer a deal around $100 million. Some people are uncomfortable with even the risk of him bolting, not even necessarily that he will, but the fact that he COULD scares them enough to trade him. Some people feel like our core isn't enough to win a championship, so trading for Wiggins could potentially give us a Kevin Durant type player. Those are just some of the reasons I've read on here.

Yup. So he completely changed his mind, 100%, in a matter of a year? So why do you think he can't change his mind again?

That's kind of what some of were arguing last summer... but in reverse. Some of you wanted to trade him because he seemed unhappy, and we were saying he still had two years left. Things can change. You don't get rid of your best players every time they are unhappy. Especially in a small market where your options are less.

Yes he may change his mind again, but the smarter move was and is.....to keep him. I don't care if it back fires in the next 12 months, it was still the right move.

No there were "trade him because he won't resign".

Sure, but we also weren't gloating as if it was already done, and clowning on people. At least I don't think I was.

Well I have egg on my face and I'm loving it (I feel like a pornstar). I feared LMA would bolt and wanted to trade him only for that reason. There is always a chance he changes his mind, but coming out and saying this publicly really puts my mind at ease.

So throw your best insults my way, I can take it. (I call my post "dumbass" so you can attack this post by referencing dumbass)

True, but there are other ways to annoy and some (not you) were non stop for months. And they will still spin this in a way to keep it up for another 6 years. Although I am sure their names will change. But it does get old.

Nothing to see here...

Yes there were people saying that. You even said that this summer.

I never said he wasn't going to re-sign this summer. In fact, I think I specifically said that I hope he does re-sign, but that I'm not holding my breath either way.

I'm not gonna bother to look, and really, I don't give a shit, but I feel like I remember the tone from you and BrianfromWA changing dramatically once the heavy rumors of LMA wanting out first hit. Went from thinking we should deal him just in case, to an almost I told you so. Regardless, I think you've changed your tune and have stated so many times about wanting to see him here.

Love hearing this today, and love that he clarified about how hey, I wanna be here, but it makes no sense financially. Yes, things can always change, we can have a horrendous season, etc. But I like this news.

This is good news and I think the right thing to do is let it play out no matter the risk involved and let him further define himself as a person. Trust is the word. I’m not like many of you, meaning some what gullible. I still think the appeal of playing at or going home is there. And I think if you give Marc Cuban (and he will get that opportunity) one to two days to sell him on the benefits of playing with the Mavericks and going back home at a lovely dinner at his mansion. I feel like there is a good chance he wins him over. For one, I’m not sold his heart his here. I think he’d rather play in a warmer, drier place where there is more going on. I have to believe with how close he is to his family and his mom, he would love to be closer. In the end, it’s a risk but it’s one that we should be willing to take because he personally said he wants to finish his career as a Blazer and be the best one at that. If he’s authentic and only time will tell. We should give him the opportunity

I will say this, if this off season doesn’t get any better than this and we lose him next off season. Neil better start packing his bags.

If a sperm, an egg and HCP were in bed and HCP was smoking a cigarette . . . which came first?

I'm pretty sure no matter the choices, HCP came first.
