LaMarcus to the ......Lakers?

This didn't come from Adrian Woj. Had it, I'd be really concerned.

I am in awe in how quiet both sides the ORG and LA's side is in this to thus point.

Why would olshey consult LA about the batum trade if he knew he was gone? Olshey has made it a point of emphasis that the organization will be players first. He's catering to Aldridge right now. Batum is the first step. That's my opinion.

Maybe Aldridge is doing this and will resign, but he likes to freak out the fanbase so he'll be super loved when he does resign.

yeah, that's it.

Sadly, that could very well be it. Shameful that the business is willing and able to work on a everyday Joes thoughts and feelings and then getting off on it.

I'm sorry but I'm calling BS on trading Batum making LA more likely to stay considering Wes wants huge money coming off a career altering injury...,,

I just don't see how that could be catering to LA, does LA want a weaker team in a contention sense?

Theoretically trading batum clears cap space to go after someone like deandre or hibbert. Don't see how that makes Portland weaker.

For a quite and shy guy, the lights and media attention in LA is not what LMA is looking for. This is sports agent banter to get Olshey riled up and do something stupid.
Well I'm glad someone knows Aldridge inside and out that posts in this forum.

Except for the, leak?, to woj right after trade that it wasn't a rebuilding move, Aldridge knew of the deal. Wonder if that was neil?

My random guess, neil wants to give 5 year max, Aldridge wants a 1 and 1. Neil agrees, but gets to make whatever moves. So adds vonleh as asset or, insurance. So Aldridge was aware in the sense that anyone could go. I dunno.

I pray we don't give him a 1 and 1.... Rather let him leave.

Was just giving my 2 cents. No need to get passive aggressive. I hope I'm right on this and all of this is just pre-draft nonsense.

Why would we start a rebuild the day before the draft... without any picks involved? This deal could have been made post Lamarcus exit. If Lamarcus is out then we will release Kaman too ASAP. Kaman value in trade is in a salary dump to another team, we wouldn't take salary back if we are rebuilding.

Take that for what it is worth.

The question is what does aware mean in this case? Was it a consulting or a phone call saying "hey bro, it's Neil. Traded Batum, cya."

Neil is a players first GM. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked aldridge who he'd like to play with.

Hopefully LA knows a lot more about the plan than just this first move. He's probably known for awhile and has just been chilling out and staying out of the limelight. I expect a lot more change to come soon.

I want Lamarcus back, but he has earned his right to leave, I can't fault him if he chooses to do so. I have a single reason I want him to stay... just so Canzano is wrong.

Wait so you would be fine with him deciding to go to Lakers?! I would never forgive him for that move

I didn't like that Jerome went to the Lakers, but I forgave him. I didn't like that Brian Grant went to the Lakers, but I forgave him. I don't like that Steve Blake was a Lakers but I forgive him, I don't like that Mychael Thompson, or Kermit Washington went to the Lakers, but I forgive them. I don't forgive Drexler going to Houston, because he turned his back on his Portland legacy.

It's a business, guys can play where they want, I hate the Lakers more than any team in pro sports, but my hatred of a team isn't going to replace my appreciation for what a player has contributed to the Blazers.

Grant and blake went to Los Angeles after playing for other teams. It's not like they left Portland and went straight to la.

I don't ride the same boat as you. He will never be forgiven if he choose to go to the Lakers. Jersey, Blake and Thompson were role players and really didn't have a choice. When a marquee player chooses to not give you shit and run to the Lakers, they are dead to me.

Nah, just life's too short and I get better things to use my energy on. I mean yeah I will be more disappointed if he goes to the Lakers than Mavericks, but I'm not going to hate him... besides he will be miserable there having to play with Kobe for what 1 year if Kobe can actually stay healthy. If Kobe isn't healthy he's on a rebuilding team.

Not if they get Boogie

LA to.....LA? (June 13, 2015)

The salary cap is supposed to be in the high $60 Million dollar mark this coming season with a significant increase the following year. There LA Lakers look poised to make a big splash in free-agency and could really set the foundation of their team for the next 5-10 years.

First off, they have Julius Randle returning from injury. The PF was the #7 pick last year and will join this year's #2 pick in LA to go with Kobe and about $30,000,000 of cap space. The Lakers could easily sign LA to a max deal (although less than what Portland could offer) and still have room for another smaller signing. Aldridge would be going to his 'other home' where he currently resides. Everyone is thinking Texas but he lives in LA and the endorsement opportunities would certainly be greater there.

Now LA may be interested in a Sign-& Trade which would free up even more money to go after another FA signing and speed up the time it takes to make them relevant again which in that case, could Portland get the #2 pick and say Randle back?

Who knows what will happen but with so much focus on Dallas/Houston/San Antonio, LA seems to have been ignored when they have more cap space than all of those teams without renouncing players.

If LaMarcus were to go to LA with nothing coming back, that would be the biggest kick in the face ever.

This was from a couple weeks ago on another board after I'd had a conversation with a person very close to the Blazer organization. They felt this had been coming for some time and tha Neil had been preparing for this contingency quite diligently.

Drexler went to school at Houston. Phi Slamma Jamma, teammate of Hakeem.

If we could get the #2 pick and randle then LA can bounce.
