Lamarcus left Olshey with no choice but to demolish this core because this was all based around HIS decision. We had to create a scenario where if he left we weren't completely fucked which we aren't but the future looks grim. An Aminu signing is all we have to brag about right now.

Further, dragging this out, while potential 'running mates' are signed by other teams (i.e. Monroe to the Bucks; Hibbert to wherever), makes it that much less likely the Blazers can field a team that would entice him to stay in the first place.

He mentioned in his exit interview that only a few of his teammates knew him next level. I am wondering who those would be. I think one would be Wes. Couldn't tell you the others. Huh...I was going to jump on here and blast LMA, but giving it some consideration I am resolved in my belief that it is time to move on with out him. We had him for a decade. He did not come into his own until the past couple of years. True, at this point he is one of the best PFs in the league but I do not consider him able to carry the team as his performance in the play offs have shown.

The era of guys staying on teams for multiple contracts has come to a close. The teams that are going to be successful in this new NBA will have to be able to retool and reload every year or two. Yeah, I will miss rooting for guys as I have in years past, but the excitement of year to year changes will give us plenty of entertainment.
