Trade Larry Nance Jr traded to Portland

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

We we're tied for 5th last season with only a partial season of Norm, C.J. and Nurkic missing significant time and with Stotts as our coach. Two teams above us were Denver (who will be without Murray) and the Clippers (who will be without Kawhi).

I think LAL passes us, but they have a ton of question marks and potential injury issues. Golden State will be solid but who knows how good Klay is coming off of two major injuries and Draymond isn't anywhere near as good as he used to be.

I don't think it's a stretch at all.

Tier 1: LAL/PHX
Tier 2: POR/GSW/UTA
Tier 3: DEN/DAL/LAC
You put us a tier above the team that beat us in a seven game series with three rotation players out including their second best player? The fun part is that we'll get to see and hopefully you're right but I do not think the coaching change and exchanging DJJ for Nance makes that kind of a jump likely.

I think it's likely:

Tier 1: LAL/PHX/UTA
Tier 2: DEN/DAL
Tier 3: GSW/POR/LAC

He is an upgrade but really not a fan of giving up first round picks. First round picks are literally our only hope of ever getting a star player in Portland, without the draft we have nothing, sure alot of them can be busts but I would rather take that chance than never have the chance of a start player at all.

You can always trade contracts for first round picks...now is Dame's prime...you don't wait for 3 years to develop another rookie..the draft is a crap shoot most of the time

Swap Golden State and Dallas for me and that is mine.

When are you going to send us Siakam?

Hahahah i was going to say the exact same thing but passed. Hilarious.

We have a better roster than Denver. One more made play in Game 5 and we're up 3-2 and would've likely won the series. That was with Stotts as coach and with a horrific defensive frontcourt pairing off the bench in Melo+Kanter off the bench. Remember when those two would come in and Denver would immediately go on a run? The roster is better. We win that series with Billups as coach. There is a ton of room for growth defenisvely from a team that tied for 5th last year.

Also, we tied with Dallas last year. If anything, they might've gotten worse and downgraded their coach. I don't know how they end up a tier above us.

I switch the Warriors with Denver. Denver are still a very good team. Warriors has too many potential issues. As for us our roster should be good. Our bench has improved a lot. Hopefully Billups can have a good start to the season
The key will be the playoff though. Who will we be matchup with? Will the other teams be healthy in time for the playoff? The suns got lucky due to injuries from other teams.

Good trade. Who cares about the first round pick? If we don’t get to the finals this year, Lillard is probably gone, and we’re going to suck next year anyway.

Nance by himself won’t get us to the finals, of course, but Olshey is hoping that all these little deals may add up to something big come playoff time.

This means CJ is staying and we're not going after Simmons.
Yep, I thought the same thing. Olshey now thinks he’s patched enough holes that he doesn’t have to move CJ. This is his last trade. The roster is set.

No...that's not what staggering means at all...and every bench player plays against starters especially if we have a lead...I'm saying his minutes don't matter...his production does. I want some offense running through Nurk with the first unit...to me..CJ is a perfect 6 man...of course he won't just play against bench players but he might be playing while superstars are taking a break more often than matching them for court time...As a 6 man he'd also be playing against starters who have tired legs while he's fresh, so there's that as well..if he's hot you play him big minutes. Also using CJ as a 6 man he would probably ask to be traded to the east where he could be an allstar and start again.....I could live with that as well...there's no downgrade in being Mano Ginobli..
Couldn't Agree more. Like Mano, Jason Terry was in many closing lineups. Ray came off the bench. Super sparkplug when nobody else can get baskets. Billups did mention corner threes.

Nassir maybe that guy. Fight me.

Or does this allow a trade of CJ/Roco for Simmons?
I don’t think Olshey would make that trade, but I could be wrong. Olshey knows how close Dame and CJ are, and he wants to bring them both a title in Portland

Remember it took him until like game 5 to bench Kanter and use RHJ instead? What most of us were saying since game 1. Fuck that guy.

Nance at center is more about his ability there than Zellers inability. Zeller is a good player but nance has really thrived when playing small ball 5. Draymond lite.

Nance, who is Covington Jr. (same height but looks less fearsome...Draymond Lite? not qite), makes our PF lineup so short that it's almost cute.

National articles praise the Bulls for getting a 2nd round pick from Cleveland, without noting that it's worthless...top 56-protected. 2-way G-Leaguers are free.

covington doesn’t know how to pass, and nance defends bigs better. they’re not really comparable.
