Hey it's a good move, and a need. I want to wish DJJ the very best. And a fantastic future. He's going to an up & coming Eastern Conference team .

I need to get video of the post practice dunk contests in CHI with him/Lavine/DeRozan there.

Larry Nance Jr. also seems like a great dude. I chatted with him for like 20 minutes two years ago. Told him he needed to come play for Portland. He said Channing and K-Love always talk about how great Portland is, so he was interested in playing in a place like Portland.

It kind of got me thinking... would this be the precipice needed for Cleveland to waive Kevin Love and the Blazers to pick up him up on a league min? He'd be a solid backup at 4 or 5 once he gets back into playing shape. Not many players have openly opined to play in Portland and I for one would love to see him in a Blazers jersey when he retires. Plus, I read that Love and Nance are friends.

Love and Nance are solid friends. But to be fair, Love and Frye were the elder statesmen of the Cavs a few years back and were vets that everyone on the team looked up to. Love would bring the fun energy to the entire team that kinda bonded them all.

Dame follows Nance on IG. Not like these things matter much but I do wonder if he was a guy he wanted to play with.

pshhh, he didn't even win a slam dunk contest! Runner-up is not acceptable!

Preaching to the choir.

If the Cav's waive Love cause of this deal the Blazers would be smart to sign Love tell him to be ready AFTER the All star break that is the ONLY way Love in Portland would make sense after seeing how he fell on his face before leaving Team USA.

One more thing -- the 1st round pick is a small gamble but right now the Blazers need to make a gamble and I think it's a good gamble and only slightly risky

Wish our starting lineup would be

Dame
Norm
RoCo
Nance
Nurk

With Billups defensive IQ we’d have a good chance to be elite on defense. And then have CJ come off the bench as a firecracker sixth man… oh that would be interesting.

Either way this season just got a lot more exciting.

To anyone complaining about giving up first rounders, what does it matter? We’re trying to keep Dame happy now. If he leaves, we’ll receive an excess share of quality non-protected first rounders back. We’d also be able to grab a ton more shipping out the rest of the team if we’re going full rebuild.

Hard to believe, perhaps, but I don't think I would play Love ahead of Zeller or Nance. I wouldn't bring him in unless he's OK with that Jared Dudley/Udonis Haslem role. He's not been a great veteran presence on that CLE team the past few years and has thrown tantrums. Frye absolutely was that light hearted chemistry builder on their title team, but Love wasn't as much.

Hell, get the whole band back together. Love and Nance on the court, and Frye doing halftime and post game!

I've mentioned CJ playing the John Havlicek role. Havlicek is a Hall of Famer.
