Filming the casino in close angle was such a shitty move. Compare it to the cantina where you see the room and get a sense for Luke’s mystification at what he’s seeing, you get a sense of what it’s like in there... Not a sense of what it’s like being a camera on a fucking track wire.

I took so many exceptions to this movie. It was entertaining, but it definitely was not good.

I honestly like episodes 1, 2, and 3 more!

The thing that chaps my ass is JJ gave a very easy route to Johnson for this movie... all he had to do was explain Snoke, Luke's absence, and Rey/Ren further training... with rebel/first order clashes in between.

Episode 10 starts with some fat middle aged guy on the shitter with a laptop on his lap. His mom barges in and says “Jimmy I told you your Star Wars story is trash, stop writing it and go buy me a pack of lucky’s”.

Its like it was edited with 14 year old boys in mind. Their short attention spans, lack of attention to detail and need to just see big shiny exploding things is exactly how this movie comes across. The only thing lacking was women barely wearing clothing (they have ROTJ for that).

Yeah Snoke was supposed to be an all power and ancient and shit and then goes down like that. We don't even find out who exactly he is or what his motives are...I was waiting for a Snoke\Luke showdown

I'm curious if there will be a massive time leap in the next movie... it would make the most sense if they want to get Leia out easy and fast, and build backstory on how the resistance is building a guerilla warfare army or something... cause they pose no threat to the First Order and frankly, Rey stands no chance against Kylo.. the only thing holding him back from killing her is his love and obsession for her.

I was told, by a HUGE Star Wars nerd, that that is one of the things she does in the canon. I think that was a nod to the uber nerds whose life revolves around this shit (and argue about parsacs being a measure of distance vs time).

As most of you know, I watched all 8 movies in a row at a movie theater in Times Square. 2 & 3 both seemed better than I remembered. I liked 8 because it was the one new movie. It's biggest weakness (it ends like 6 times), is its strength. So many twists and turns. Every movie has a moment that defines it. This one is Kylo shooting the crap out of Luke and then Luke stepping forward untouched. I didn't see him as a hologram like one mentioned in this thread. He simply "reached out with his feelings."

Whenever the "holo luke" showed up, I instantly wondered why it is he shaved and died his hair.

And looked more like Chuck Norris than Mark Hamil.

Just poor writing. Not a great storyline. I have no idea what JJ Abrams is going to do in the next movie because they tore down everything he did in Ep 7.
