We like you just fine.Say what you want but the truth of the matter is that society doesn't like outspoken black people.

I would think the fact that we have a Martin Luther King Jr Day and a Martin Luther King Jr Blvd would disagree with you.

What's up we all the race "debates" recently
They? As in, every white person in America? Forever?Bruh... Who gives a damn about a street when they KILLED HIM for being outspoken....? GTFO...

Do you know who killed Malcolm Little? Was going to just post this.
Same for Malcolm X (he didn't get his day, but that's cuz he didn't exactly preach peace).
Or Tupac (and I know people are going to say he died in a coast rivalry, but look at what he went through before he died).

He was killed by the Nation of Islam. He publicly said they were trying to kill him. And then they shot him like 20 times while he was speaking.I don't know who killed MLK, Malcolm, JFK, Abraham Lincoln, etc.
I knew who is claimed to kill most of these folks though.
So I guess not even black people like outspoken black people right? That's why he was killed. After his pilgrimage to Mecca, where he saw people of all skin tones worshiping, he began to preach togetherness.

dviss was talking about Malcolm X, who, up until his pilgrimage, was the militant yang to Martin's peaceful yin.Oh, yeah. But that's not how his memory is portrayed to this day. MLK is known as a man of togetherness and inclusion and always has been.
They make jokes about the "token black dude" in movies and other parts of media. Don't get me wrong, I in no way am trying to diminish MLK the man or his accomplishments, but he's been made the token. Y'all only get one.
This will get twisted, but I'm trying to emphasize the way the atmosphere has only allowed so much...
I don't disagree with that, but I think you bring race into too many discussions where race has nothing to do with the subject. This man would be getting the same treatment if he was white.Say what you want but the truth of the matter is that society doesn't like outspoken black people.

Actually, since part of our society is prejudiced and doesn't like "outspoken black people", that would make Lavar a more volatile figure to those people, thus garnering more attention and thus, building his name and his brand. Garnering a lot of negative attention is beneficial to him.
Malcolm preached racist hate, and was pro segregation. He had an epiphany late in life, and realized that he was being a piece of shit. Then his ex-comrades killed him for turning against their hateful cause.Oh, yeah. But that's not how his memory is portrayed to this day. MLK is known as a man of togetherness and inclusion and always has been.

Well we don't know for sure, because nobody's acted this fucking crazy. However, the Curry family is always given positive attention, as I've seen way too many shots of Curry's wife and mother after he scores. They're black, and they get a ton of good attention. I don't think the attention given to Lavar, nor the Curry family is of a racial base. That's not clear. A lot of how we perceive others is subconscious--I think there's definitely an inbuilt societal prejudice against black men (and women) being aggressive (in the various contexts of aggression) as compared with white men and women. It's not always a conscious thing. In fact, it rarely is, except for explicit racists.
But you got mad at people for discussing race when it comes to Collins, yet you discuss race when it comes to Lavar... I know they're different situations but why is this board always talking about race recently? In your opinion.

Say what you want Bones. But IMHO if he were white it'd be different.
