You have it right on every count. LFrank is not a good head coach. He can do X's and O's but is LOUSY at the rotation.Every analyst thought that Magloire was a steal and could help. In typical Lawrence fashin, he's not playing. Magloire is DEFINITELY better than Collins and should get minutes. We will never win and never attract good players with this guy as our coach.</p>

He treats players he doesn't like like crap. He is not good enough to do that. His rotation management and substitutions are outright awful but Rod will support him. I wish he would go.</p>

I alluded to this in another thread, but I feel that even though he kept Magloire out of the game because of his size, he was wrong to do so (although I understand the inital reason for doing so). Magloire is slow, but then again how fast is Collins? Also if Frank was really gung-ho about a fast line up we wouldn't have seen Collins getting as much time either.</p>

i normally do not blame a coach for a loss, but this one falls solely on frank. yeah u can say this player did this wrong and that, but again we have a big lull at go down big, then HE TAKES SEAN OUT OF THE GAME WHEN HE WAS <font size="4" face="Tahoma">THE DIFFERENCE MAKER!<font size="3"><font face="Arial"> <font size="2">i told my cousin, who came to the game with me, that as soon as sean was walking to the bench i told him this is a very bad move. why ruin something that has been working so effectively? because frank is stubborn that is why. he just cannt trust players who havent been here for years. </font></font></font></font></p>

Im normally not one to pin a loss on a coach, but this one is an exception.</p>
 
xcalibur - You're hitting on the exact points everyone else agrees with. All of that is so true. The players weren't the greatest, but once they started hitting their stride, the only thing that could stop them was a poor rotation decision by Frank...along with bad play-calling.</p>
 
Frank just proved that Williams should start. It's really annoying to have to watch games while the coach seems more invested in a system than a win.

Well, let's give Frank some credit.</p>

He did build a lead by keeping Williams in for extended minutes in the first place.</p>

I agree that taking him out made no sense, but at least he and we all learned how goddamned good that guy is.</p>

Yeah, I'm pissed about Frank being an idiot coach this game (and a few other games), but I'm also a bit iffy about firing him.</p>

Maybe we could go out and find an assistant to help him out in situations like these?</p>

Lawrence Frank should consider listening to others. I wonder if Kidd had anything to say to Frank about this loss.</p>
 
I didn't see the YES post-game interviews, but I read on this board that Kidd might have called out Collins?</p>

Kidd is our floor general, so I'm sure Frank and him will have some kind of discussion. J won't attack him for some of the "bone-head" moves, but surely he will share some of his ideas, for the future.</p>

The way we lost sucks, but I'm willing to give Frank a bit more time. I guess that's just me.</p>

I'm sensing that Frank is going to be a bone-headed contrairian occasionally, if not just to make some space between himself and "the assistants". If Frank can't proove that he can be the man at the helm and encorporate his strategems, he will appear to be a vestigal organ...Kidd is the general on the floor, Frank runs the practices. </P>
Sure my avitar is looking at me funny for putting him down, but really, a monkey wearing an Izod shirt could coach this team as "head coach" what makes the Nets coaching great is the supporting guys. Frank's on court yellin' coach routine is a bit tired. Sometimes I feel that someone should be barking at him, but he's not a bad coach. I am getting tired of him, but as long as he has the teams trust I'm behind him.

I think Frank never heard to Brian Hill, he is just so stubborn, he thinks he is the best one, Brian Hill has nothing to do....</p>

In fact, we have two head coach in a same team, but we are still like we have a monkey as our coach.</p>

He should be praised for playing Williams at all. This after Magloire complained about his minutes. Guess he won't complain again.</p>
 
You are all being way too harsh on Frank. His job is just to put his players in a position to succeed, not just for this game, but in the future. Remember, he has to continue to play the struggling Nachbar, Krstic, Magloire, and Malik Allen, or some combination thereof, to give them a chance to become untracked.</p>

He's always well prepared, he always has a well-thought out game plan, but the players have to execute. Maybe you can second-guess some of the plays, but his game plan DID limit Paul to four assists less than his average, and did get him to commit five TOs. He's a terrific young coach and has done a heck of a job, all in all.</p>

My frustration with him is his reluctance to tinker with the starting lineup. It seems that he is willing to change his rotation and the amount of playing time for certain guys based on who is playing well, etc., and to use unorthodox combinations, which is something that I think he didn't do enough of during his first few years. A couple of times, he has gone with a five-small lineup this season, with Kidd and Armstrong in the back court. But when it comes to the starting lineu, unless a guy is hurt, it's always the same five guys, and I don't know why. Other coaches tinker--some every game, like Nelson, some less frequently, but they all are willing to make adjustments based on who is playing well, who the opponent is, etc. Coach Frank refuses to do this, and I think that the team suffers as a result. Other people have noted that there are times when it makes no sense to start Collins, and as I've said before, I don't believe that Collins and Krstic should start together at all. In some cases, it may even make sense to bring Carter off the bench--that would have been fascinating against the Celtics, and now we'll essentially see the same thing now that he's injured.</p>

Not to bash everything you wrote, most of which is true and correct---but the biggest thing that popped in my head when reading this, was a simple obvious coaching decision that Frank didn't do--GO TO THE PLAYER THAT IS HOT.</p>

Is it that hard to write up a play for RJ? Or to tell your players to, at any cost, GET RJ THE DAMN BALL. He's hitting shots, free throws, driving inside. Why do you not go to him in the whole 4th quarter? Or more importantly, on those last 2 plays at the end of the game?</p>

A high school coach would've been able to do that. Instead, Krstic ends up with the ball, after air balling a shot in the 4th. Isn't that a sign that he's gotten too much PT that game as it is??</p>
