Knicks have a stronger frontcourt, although still not a great one themselves. But its an edge none the less</div>
The Knicks have a very decent frontcourt. Maybe not a great one but, it is very decent with Nazr Mohammed, Kurt Thomas, and soon to be Allan Houston. Their games really compliment eachother well.

Kidd-Carter-Jefferson is a better backcourt than Marbury-Crawford-Houston in my and most others(i'd be willing to bet) opinions. Assuming of course Kidd gets back to 100%, as well as Houston and Carter. Bench is about even between teams. Maybe a slight edge to New York. But i think the Nets will be a more consistent team overall, and have better coaching. </div>
I guess one can say that however, I feel that the Knicks is more effective. The Knicks have two great ballhandlers, and a great shooter. Marbury can create for both Jamal Crawford and Allan Houston who can easily make them pay. Jefferson has gotten better with his shooting but, it is still somewhat inconsistant. I guess you can say it is better but, this backcourt will be fine for our team while their backcourt will be good for their team.
About the bench, I will have to disagree with you. The Knicks have great role players in Penny Hardaway, JYD, Moochie Norris, Sweetney, TT will be better off the bench, and Trevor Ariza. Are you honestly saying this is a slight edge over: Best, Buford, Mercer, Planinc, Vaughn, Scalabrine, and Dickens? I think in my and many others opinions will say that New York has a much better bench. The Knicks bench is huge factor in whether they win or not. Role Players like JYD are hard to come by and not many teams have that kind of hustle/heart/defensive player.
Can you really say they will be a more consistant team after giving up their only center and the rest of their frontcourt? They didn't even get a big man from the Raptors. The Nets now only have Collins: not your ideal image of a center. Kristic: a very talented rookie but, too inexperienced and only 21. And Brian Scalabrine: a good hustle player that shows heart but, he is a bench role player. That and that only.

I predict Nets win more games from Vince Carter activation time than the Knicks do....by a decent margin as well.</div>
I see you have much faith in Vince Carter. I disagree that the Nets will win more games than New York. I do think New Jersey definitely got better with Vince Carter but, I think their acquisition of Carter still has its flaws to it. The Nets can definitely sneak into the playoffs however, their lack of big bodies will prove costly for them in the playoffs and as well in the season. There is no way any of us can rpove eachother wrong on this but, to watch and see what each team does.
