LeBron James Untouchable in more ways than one

The King's buttocks shall not be touched for fear of consequences including but not limited to beheading. Yes, not limited to beheading.

please see my poll....the most annoying player in the NBA. he is the biggest douche in the NBA at this point. he acts like an ungrateful spoiled brat who is better than everyone else. I cannot stand that he talks about the respect he has for the game, when he clearly displays over and over that he has none.

these things happen all the time with him.

oh yeah, he has not won a ring either.

Sometimes I shoot at the gym with music... it is a bad habbit because you lose some situational awareness... but if there are not a lot of people there I do it sometimes. So I can understand his suprise if he was in the zone and someone grabbed his butt out of the blue.

James is one hell of a player... but I replayed a few of his awesome drives and saw that his awesomeness included 3 full steps on the way to the rim. He could take 5 and I doubt they'd blow the whistle. Also saw the two handed pushes on BRoy and Webster to get open over and over... again... they will never call that on him but it does give him a unique advantage.

lol!

The refs also think he's untouchable. There were some real bull-jive calls in the first half.

maybe people are starting to come around now.. I have been preaching what kind of a douche this guy is, for a while now. Amazing on the court, but he honestly has become an asshole.

The dude was anointed when he was... what..... 16? He's been polished, scrubbed, and prepped for this for most of his life. It's no different than a Britney Spears or a Tom Cruise. He will take a fall. One thing that truly amazed me about NBA players is how babied they are. They are literally told where to be almost every second of every day. They are often given allowances of spending money. A lot of the young guys don't control their own funds. They have managers and agents. Darius Miles was a perfect example. He was treated like a child, so he behaved like a child. They have no concept of the outside world, or what goes on in it, and James has that times ten.

well said

Some kid reached out and grabbed his ass! I'd be pissed too. He may be full of himself, but no kid should be going up to strangers and groping asses.

Its my opinion that most pro athletes are assholes... that James may be one too doesn't seem far fetched

scowling at a stranger who grabs your butt while you're working doesn't seem to be a good example of being one

In truth, the kids were lucky that they weren't thrown out.

Its to bad that people assume most pro athletes are jerks or assholes. Because I would say this is not true. Maybe because the only stories people hear are about the bad ones.

Oh I actually understand him getting pissed at this one.. some random stranger touches my ass I can get upset. But I was speaking more in general towards people coming around to what a whiny bitch he has become. I started noticing it most in the olympics last year. While players like Kobe were being all about business, he would whine about every call/non call. His sense of entitlement annoys the crap out of me.

I think he just thinks he is putting on a show. Of course it pisses of the fans of the team he is playing. Any antics would do that. It's all just part of the show folks. If he pisses you off, he has succeded. That is what he wants to do. He wants to get you pissed off so you boo him and he feeds off of it. :pimp:

I dislike him for his whining. I dont care about his pre game rituals. I am a guy who defends Kobe in here, so I can look past off the court stuff lol.

fans hear both types of stories (good and bad) but I've heard enough about what a great guy OJ, Kirby Puckett, Kobe, etc... are that I don't believe any of the sunshine. It's my own experience of dealing with random pros as a nobody that they don't enjoy dealing with Joe Blow fan much and would rather be left alone. I don't begrudge them this and rarely say anything when I come across one. I'm sure others do and are offended when said celeb doesn't drop everything to sign stuff and pose for pix... I've seen this scenario several times. You on the other hand are a part of their profession so it's understandable that they let their guard down more and just act more like a normal person.

That said, even most of the top jocks I've come across in HS and college were entitled idiots. I played hoops vs quite a few Ducks while I was at UO. There were plenty of times I was just amazed at their pettiness and aloof attitudes though Terrell Brandon was probably the nicest guy who ever kicked my butt.

Just watch LeBron during the game and you'll know he is a douche. None of this ass grabbing is necessary to reach that conclusion.

EXACTLY. There is a reason many of us thought he was a douche before this story.

Yeah but the story is a very poor example of Bron being a douche. Those kids are lucky they didn't get kicked out of the game for that. I don't care wide eyed and in awe they were. You don't go around groping asses freely.

Agreed to that as well. This story isnt what has made him a douche in my eyes.. I started feeling this a year and a half ago. He had every right to be upset in this instance though.

It's the article's writer (Ben) who comes off as a douchebag. Taking exception to being groped inappropriately by a stranger while at work is completely understandable. That he relays this as his centerpiece mark against LJ reveals someone who is out to smear/out of touch with reality

Being at work in basketball is definitely not the same as being at work in a "real job". One can argue that point but in all reality, its different. Normal people at normal jobs aren't iconic centers of attention with billboards and magazine articles and pictures of them all over, with millions of people wanting to emulate them. James is different, he's a premier basketball player in the NBA, hugely popular with an image to maintain (for the NBA)

In this instance, I think James acted inappropriately; of course I don't think the teens had a right to go up and touch James like that without first getting some sort of introduction underway, but he definitely should have acted more mature then going over to his buddies and throwing a temper tantrum w/profanities.

You seem to be the only one reading it that way - even his teammates seemed to feel he was overreacting.

I went to high school with Terrell and can't argue with you on that. He is a great guy! And I do have to agree with you that most of these pros just want to be left alone. Don't get me wrong, there are some jerks out there.... (Darius Miles to this day was probably the rudest one of em all) But these guys just want to be left alone. Guess they chose the wrong profession for that.

read the thread... you'll find that several posters agree with me that the article's author is drawing the wrong conclusions
even his teammates seemed to feel he was overreacting.
according to Ben.
