he makes what around 50 million a year?

yeah not worth it if he is paying taxes, he should just retire rather than earn only 40% of that

Winning more tourneys and not being a choke artist would add more coin to his purse.

Maybe he should focus his attention elsewhere (i.e. his performance, not his taxes).

Just sayin'.

how dare he be asked to play golf for 20 million dollars a year

hes got kids to feed

I think you guys are looking at this wrong.

If you were told you could do the exact some thing you are doing, and make 25-50% more by moving, then why wouldn't you?

If he moves from San Diego to Las Vegas (4-5 hours drive), he will save like $3 million a year if he does make $20m a year.

It ain't all fun and games.

He's a real pencil-pusher.

(Haven't you ever seen that cheesy "Come Vistit California" commercial?)

True. I'd move to Texas.

But it wouldn't be making more money. It'd spending less (on taxes).

That shit is the FURTHEST THING from what California really is.

Considering I visit CA 3-4 times per year, I know this.

But you're trying to draw tourists - did you think you were going to show Arnold driving deep through Compton terminating every person in sight?

CA does have everything in the commercial, so it's not like they're not showing real parts of CA (Disneyland, sunny beaches, wineries/vineyards, great golfing, surfing, etc).

People aren't that chippy though. Most of those celebs will tell you to fuck off if you bothered them in real life. LA, at least, is like the third world. "Hollywood" is a sewer.

It just seems to me that in a country like ours no one should have to pay more than 40% of their income to taxes.

BUT HE MAKES MORE THAN ME, HE SHOULD STOP WHINING AND COMPLAINING! WAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! :MARIS61:

Yeah, that was braniacs take.

IMHO, if someone works hard and becomes the best at something and is compensated for it I just don't see why they must give up over 60% to a fraud ridden government.

So utterly clueless he actually expects the general public to feel sorry for him.

Since it's clear he hates his country and is greatly offended by the exorbitant riches he's been allowed to hoard in return for not even actually ever working a day in his life, I say Bon Voyage!

I think we all know he's talking out of his ass. He's going nowhere.

Seems he's already feeling some pain for his disdain of his fans' welfare:

he has already backtracked from his comments, apparently it is more important to some of you than it is to him? :dunno:

point is, go ahead and move, or shelter your money or whatever...bitching about it is just that, being a bitch

He ain't the best - he should pay more in taxes for being choking during big golf moments!

Because environment trumps the illusion of monetary wealth, and I live in Beautiful Central Oregon. Nowhere on Earth I'd rather live. Phil's a hoarder, and until he's man enough to face his illness, he won't be happy no matter where he resides.

This. Exactly. Like him crying about it is going to get the sympathy of the American people.

Hey Phil, you should have given us your addy during your rant, so we poor folk can send you checks.

The only problem with California is it has so many Californians.

it always amuses me when people feign outrage for "injustices" against the filthy rich, like they need your help or pity bp.

talk about the shepherd and the sheep

It's quite possible. But we could not afford to wage wars for oil. We could not afford to allow our businesses to outsource labor to the third world. We could not allow corporations to avoid paying taxes on profits earned overseas.

Eliminate these three disfunctions of America and your wish will be granted.

Phil makes over 70% of his wealth from endorsements, and the rest from playing an old man's game.

He's not familiar with the term "hard work".

I agree.

I'd say Oregon has too many Californians as well (Bend was terrible a few years ago, especially, but not sure after the housing crash, as I don't visit Bend as often either).

Mainly talking 'bout the illegals. legal mexicans are fine but the illegals kind of fuck shit up.

I would fucking shit if I had to pay 63% of my earnings per year. I'm bitching at the 43% I'm paying now.

Think about it this way. If you could afford it; would you be fine with paying 63% of your earnings?

In perspective... Let's say you make 10k gross per month. Your cost of living is around 3.5k. The government says "Hey you can afford 63% taxes because your cost of living is only 35% of your total earnings." You still have 2% savings of your wages.

I'd rather make 50 million and pay 60% than 50k and pay 30%, so yes I'd be fine with it.
