The Kings have won three straight games in the playoffs without leading for a second in any of those games. It defies logic.

I know the non interference call making the score 4-3 was big but this team also goes on to miss glorious scoring chance after glorious scoring chance. Richards, Kreider and Zucc and had the game on their stick and blew it.

Not sure what a baseball series from 18 years ago has to do with these SCF's. You don't need to try and convince yourself this team can actually come back and win 4 of 5 games Al, they will play the games and we'll find out.

To me anyone who is saying we don't see the Rangers winning this series after flat out blowing two games is simply coming from a logic and %'s POV. Mess and I aren't bailing or saying we won't watch, we are simply being honest and saying not taking 1 of 2 in LA after FOUR 2 goal leads, will be our undoing in this series in our opinions. I don't think that is crazy given the daunting task ahead of us now, and the %'s of teams that win series in the NHL after dropping the first 2 games.

With that said, play the games, win game 3, and make game 4 matter. Then we'll go from there.

Exactly. I'm not giving up. I will be in front of the television for game three just like everyone else. I'm just not going to live in dream world where these first two games didn't happen. If they had played hard and just flat out lost it would be one thing. These two games and last night especially were given away. Winning four out of five against on opponent like this would be tough for anybody let alone a team making some of the decisions this one is making.

YES. We agree for sure Mess. The way we lost both of these games to me makes it even more difficult to come back and win the series. Most go the other way and say look how close we were, so we can win. I go the total opposite way and say that has to be mentally crushing to blow those two games (with help from the Kings doing what they do). Game 3 is more mental than anything else for us IMO.

Respectfully, here is what you are missing Al. No one is arguing with you. No one is saying it is literally impossible for the Rangers to come back and win. No one is saying how dare you feel that way, as long as you are doing it from a hockey fan POV and not just an I'm a Ranger fan so no way I could ever say they will lose POV.

No one is knocking any of that.

All Mess and I are saying is we are in a bad spot now. A terrible spot. One that based on all-time %'s says we don't have a very good shot to get out of. We say that from a hockey fan POV not just a Ranger fan POV.

With that said, of course we will watch the game. Of course we will root like crazy. Of course we will hope for a huge come back series win.

But if we are being honest, in our opinion the odds are very stacked against us, and we don't see this team beating the Kings 4 of 5, double so after the way we blew games 1 & 2.

BUT the best part of this situation is we will have an answer in 3 days. We must win both home games, so if we aren't 2-2 Wednesday night, then we'll have our answer. And if we are, then we'll watch a 2 out of 3 series and see how the chips fall.

Let me also add, I hope I am very wrong and we can and do win 4 of 5 and this series still.

A little info I just saw on NHL network. Only 5 times in the SCF has a team come back from 2-0 down. And we are 2-24 all-time when down 2-0.

Those are pretty challenging numbers for us to over come. That's what guys like Mess and I are speaking of.

It can happen. We just need to win game 3 and go from there, but it is heavily stacked against us now. That's the reality when you look at the numerical history.

Of course you don't want your team thinking that Al, and they should 100000000% still feel as if they can win because they can, but my point is understand what we are up against. No one should act like no big deal, odds aren't clearly stacked against us. Again that is the point.

Play each game and let the chips fall where they may, all we can do. But just fully understand the situation we are in because we blew four 2 goal leads in two games, with the help of the Kings of course.

We are very big underdogs now based on sheer #'s. And winning a series and multiple games is different than making one come back in one game.

If the Rangers had been embarrassed in L.A. I might think their chances of hoisting the Cup would be a little slimmer, but I would still say they have a chance because it still takes 4 wins to take it all. The Rangers just need to get that first win out of the way to get on a roll. IMO they've outplayed the Kings, and in no way have looked like they don't belong on the same ice as the Kings. Yeah, getting at least one win in L.A. would have been great, but losing the way they did should make them come out seeing red Monday night. Should be a great game ...

I'm with you Al, saying that you're going to watch the game and root for the Rangers but you don't expect them to win is the creed of the follower not the fan, followers talk of stats and being realistic while fans realize the Rangers are coming home to even up the series. It's along the lines of saying the Rangers were not a playoff team in January because they had a rough stretch and lo and behold come seasons end they finished in second. The Rangers have dominated this series on the road with little to no contribution from the first line. I believe the stats were stacked against the Rangers when Pitt went up 3-1 in a most embarrassing fashion at home. I believe the stats were against them going to play in Montreal as well but that's why they play the game.

I agree jam. At the very least we have played on even footing with the Kings and clearly proven we can play with them and belong with them. No doubt there jam.

And panzer, I have to laugh. So if someone thinks their team is up against it overall to come back and win a series, or picks them to lose a series, like a few guys did in here, that means they are a follower and not a fan? I simply disagree. If someone said I think the Kings are better so I pick them in 6, that does not make them less of a fan, in their eyes in makes them honest and objective. I see no harm in that. Being a fan doesn't mean you always have to pick your team to win just because they are your favorite team.

I personally have no real feel on game 3. I can truly see either team winning it with how games 1 & 2 played out. I just happen to think winning the whole series is going to be VERY difficult now down 2-0. We'll see.

Translation, you believe if a fan EVER picks against his team he cannot be a fan. That is where we disagree. I respect your right to have that opinion, but I disagree.

Now I do think if someone says they are a fan but always is negative about their team, always picks against their team, always knocks their team, then yes I question if that person is a fan.

BUT if someone feels they are simply being objective and picks their team to lose a series here or there, or a game here or there, I think clearly that person can still be a huge fan.

I would submit that if someone always picks their team just because they are a fan of that team, you are not a fan you are a homer. There is a difference to me.

SC picked the Habs and the Kings. 31 picked the Kings. I thought we were in huge trouble and had very little chance to come back and win the Pitt series when I left that building after game 4. That doesn't make any of them or me not huge Ranger fans, it just makes us hockey fans who sometimes will pick against our team if we feel they will lose.

So we agree to disagree if you feel being a fan means you ALWAYS have to pick your team otherwise you are a follower not a fan. I say that is the difference between a homer and a fan, not a follower and a fan.

Im trying to give motivation and all I hear back is..well history tells us that....or you cant compare this to that...guess what...all you stat freaks and betting men...1980 USA team. I never said you can't compare that to this. I said you cannot compare coming back in one game after the 2nd period to winning a series. You can compare this to the Caps series and the Pens series for sure. Similar situations. This is tougher because the Kings are much better than those teams, and this is the SCF. But yes you clearly can compare those situations Al.

And again, of course they CAN win. No one is saying flat out they cannot win Al, that would be stupid. And the %'s are very much against us, but they are not 100% against us Al. It has happened 5 times in the SCF. It has happened 2 times out of 26 series for us. So YES it CAN happen Al, and no one is saying it can't and no one is saying we shouldn't believe it can happen, we should for sure.
