This douchebag was essentially the reason why we didn't get a top-tier FA this offseason. Fuck you and fuck your second-rate franchise.

Ironically, it could be Chris Wallace who saved us from grossly overpaying Hedo.

Sorry, this is all KP.

The Blazers mishandled the Miles situation, for some reason, refused to use RLEC at the deadline, refused to renounce Blake and Outlaw to give us an extra 7.6 million in cap space. They are nice role players, but that's all they are.

Negative post count: +1

Missing out on Hedo is on him just as much as the 40+ win turn around is on him.

Who would we bring in with more cap space?

There's no FA this year who's worth $15+ million/year anyways.

May every possible injury and misfortune strike the Grizz.....and may Wallace be retained long enough to suffer through every one of them. May the man pray for death long before he is granted its' sweet release.

Not this time.

Everything I said was fact, not negativity. You just need to come to grips with the fact that KP blew it.

Fact and negative can go together. You are quick to point out the negative facts, but rarely post about the positive facts. Why is that?

If you read my post, I agreed with you that KP blew getting Hedo.

I have said many times that I think KP is an incredible judge of talent. He has done wonders getting players like Roy, Aldridge, Rudy and Bayless. I don't include Oden because it was pick #1.

What KP has never done is add a vet by subtracting some of his guys. I think he is too attached to them, and is all but affraid to make a deal.

Hopefully that changes in the next few days.

How? You mean The E-Mail? Or do you mean something that actually has an effect on the franchise?

refused to use RLEC at the deadline

Refusing to make a deal that the team doesn't think helps them isn't a bad thing.

To do what with? Add $7.6 million to the Turkoglu offer? Max the guy out, because anything, even something stupid, is better than nothing.

All good points. I think if you showed a little more balance in your posts, you wouldn't come across as one of those glass half-empty type guys.

If KP is such a good judge of talent in the draft, maybe we need to keep building our team that way. We should use his strengths not his weaknesses.

Stupid question:

Since Miles's contract is coming off the books 2010 ... can it be traded away as an expiring contract? Or did all of the medical retirement BS make that impossible?

When he was waived his contract was the responsibility--but not property--of the Blazers.

We can't trade what we don't have. :(

Yep, you answered your own question.

Fuck Chris Wallace.

Fuck Hedo. I never really wanted him, but fuck him anyway.

Fuck it.

I don't think there was a top-tier FA available this year. But it still sucks we don't have that extra space.

for some reason, refused to use RLEC at the deadline...

Did you happen to notice that Shaq says we tried to get him at the deadline? That was the RLF contract bro. KP cant trade by himself - it takes two to Tango.

Did you hear the Blazers say they never tried to trade for Shaq?

Are we picking and choosing when we get to believe KP now?

Portland had many deals on the table and didn't pull the trigger. It was said we didn't because of this summer and our wonderful cap space. And yes, I do know that had many deals on the table "deal coming soon" jokes to follow.

I guess I'm not up-to-date on things, but Chris Wallace did what exactly? Prevent KP from signing Hedo somehow is all I got.

EDIT: Oh, right, Miles, haha. That's on KP, pure amateur crap.

Chris Wallace's signing of Miles is the reason we don't have 17M in cap space right now. 19 if we renounce Kopo/Free. Or, in other terms, a lopsided trade that brings back 27M (enough for Paul and Peja).

What would that extra cap space get us? We could give Hedo an extra 4 million a year? yay. whoopee!

?? You can't think of anything good we could get from a team for taking 20M of dead contract from them? Seriously?

Wait how was the D-Miles thing on KP again? An independant NBA appointed doctor said that Darius Miles should retire as further play could jeopardize his health. We retired him with the consent of the players union and the NBA. D-Miles, his agent, and the lovable Chris Wallace took it on themselves to go for the gold or the extra 700k in D-Miles case and the few million in Wallace's case. They took advantage of a poorly written rule that was clearly supposed to prevent Allan Houston like retirements and resignings not what D. Miles did.

It's funny NY abused the rule with Houston and reaped the benefits. Then the NBA puts a poorly worded rule in place to prevent teams from medically retiring their own players for cap reasons and then resigning them. Portland gets fucked by the rules poor wording and Wallace is rewarded. Ah, the CBA where amazing happens!

What are you talking about? The letter we sent AFTER Memphis already signed Darius with the sole purpose of screwing us over? That did absolutely nothing to hurt or help us.
