Let's move Aldridge

Wayne Embry traded Jabbar to the Lakers and was not fired.

Joe Axelson traded Oscar Robertson to Milwaukee and was not fired.

Kevin McHale traded Kevin Garnett to Boston, and was not fired.

Bob McAdoo was traded a total of 5 times in his career, and none of the GMs responsible were fired.

Also, look on the brightside. There is absolutely no GM for the Blazers that can be fired for trading Aldridge (unless Allen wants to double-fire KP for drafting LA in the first place).

Do you even look at what you post? The link you provided directly contradicts your claims. It states that Garnett was traded in July of 2007, and that McHale continued to be the Minnesota GM for another 18 months. He resigned the GM job to be head coach, and finally left the organization in June of 2009, almost two years after the Garnett trade.

And I said several GMs were fired; which I gave; even excluding the Minny McKale fiasco. LOL And everyone called McKale an idiot GM, so that tops the cake on that strawman you are trying to pull. Fact... Several GMs were fired for trading away their superstar; which I gave links on; which makes my statement true.

Chamberlain, Jabbar, O'Neal, and Malone were all traded in their prime. All of them had some of their best seasons after getting traded. And I hope you're not suggesting we should keep Aldridge because he has a good relationship with the fans . . .

• DJ Augustin, BJ Mullens, and the Bobcats' #1
• Eric Gordon, Carl Landry, and the Hornets' #1
• Kevin Seraphin, Andray Blatche, and the Wizards' #1
• Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson, and the Kings' #1
• Jose Calderon, Demar Derozan, and the Raptors' #1

How many of those would you trade Aldridge for? Or, how many of those teams would make that deal for Aldridge?

Now that we're in tank/rebuild mode (and it was mentioned in another thread), let's revisit this question. IF we get the Nets' pick this year, AND were to trade Aldridge for a package like one of the above, which would you go for?

I just don't see any team giving up the only sure fire #1 pick. I would do it if they agree.

The only place LaMarcus Aldridge should be moved is to starting center - so we can use our highest draft pick on one of the stud power forwards in this draft. Keep one quality big man and add another. And, then is he's cheap enough, resign JJ Hickson to back them up. With the current lack of quality centers in the league, and the rate centers seem to get injured, you can never have too many quality bigs. We have one better than average, all-star quality big man. Rather than trade him, we should be adding to him.

The rest of the team just needs to play like they did last night, even when Aldridge is on the court. When Roy first went down, we saw the ball movement and player movement vastly improved, but now LA has become our new Roy.

Couldn't have said it better. You can't trade a proven big who plays at an All-Star level for secondary bigs, marginal PGs, and unknown draft picks. Instead of getting rid of LMA, the focus should be to find another All-NBA player who can compliment LMA's game and take some of the focus off of him late in games.
