Because in a perfect world to socialists, everything would be free, and people would never need to worry about things that "should be theirs" because they live in America. Healthcare, Education, success, etc.

To me, it comes across as entitlement, without the hard work.

I just don't think Bern's fantasy land ideas for social programs can even succeed. Some of his other ideas are cool in theory though. I will give him that.

I don't think that's exactly true.

In a perfect world, everyone would like Socialism so much they'd submit to central planning and forgo earnings based upon merit.

It's because most the Oregon population are liberals, er um, progressives, er um democrat socialists. Whatever the flavor of the day is.

Socialists are like elementary school student leadership. "Less homework and MORE recess!!!" Just insert whatever buzzwords you want for homework and recess.

Actually, the rich guys who post on message boards during work hours would be the ones submitting to the new meritocracy. The other rich guys, the ones who work as hard as the poor, would take a pay cut, but their lives wouldn't change much. They'd still be sweating all day trimming their 6-foot hedges.

One man's Socialist is another man's Christian. And perhaps it's because our parents and/or life circumstances taught us that there is more value in treating our fellow humans with respect than there is in kicking them in the balls. We're all in this world together, like it or don't. And if I shit on someone, they're likely to shit on me. I prefer to use reverse psychology in that area.....
 
Oddly, Bernie Sanders also agrees with Trump about closing the borders and getting rid of illegals. Sadly, I suspect liberals will spin this to their advantage.

This has been a major concern in America for decades and neither party has really done anything to stop the influx of mass illegal immigration. This is why Trump resonates with many Americans. Many of them know he will actually fight hard to make sure illegal immigration is under control because lobbyist and special interest groups are not controlling him. Sanders is another one that resonates with America, but he has no better chance than a snow ball in hell to win the primaries. Hilary is this election's golden goose for the democrats.

Wealth redistribution is another name of "profit caps"

You are penalizing those that make profits, then giving it to those that didn't earn it. It's promoting "entitlement" off the backs of those that earn their wage.
