I haven't been around these parts lately as some of you have noticed. About a month ago, I was rushed to the hospital with flu like symptoms, come to find out my colon needed to be removed immediately. I had a severe case or ulcerative collaitis and my whole colon needed to be removed. 5 days later there was a twist in my intestine and I needed to undergo another emergency surgery. Needless to say, I spent 28 days in the hospital and I'm finally home. Life is boring, I have a wound vac (a high tech contraption) to heal my the large gash that I have in my stomach. I also have an ileostomy bag that I have to drain all my fluids out of. My life is basically a living hell right now. Coming from someone who worked out 5 days a week with heavy weights and was in great shape, I'm not a boney 130lbs.

The good news is that the can do reconstructive surgery once my stomach wound heals and I'm able to put the weight back on. Putting weight on is hard right now though, because my stomach will only allow me so much food before it gets full. The reconstructive surgery, however will get me back to normal and I'll be able to live life like I did before.

I just thought I'd give you guys a heads up on what I've been up to the past month or so.

Be sure and send and prayers and good luck my way. Looking forward to posting with you guys in the future.

Sorry to hear your troubles, but very glad to hear you're getting through it all okay, eventually.

But hey, no more drinking binges.

Holy Crap, dude! (bad choice of words)

I was wondering where the heck you were! Thanks for the update on your situation. I wish you Godspeed in your recovery process! You'll be in my prayers. :)

Wow, that really sucks, but it's great that the outlook is positive.
Is there something that caused this, or is it a mystery?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Get well.

What causes this kind of problem?

Sorry to hear that zagsfan. Glad to hear you'll be okay though!

Take care, hope you're back to normal as soon as possible.

Wow, sorry to hear about your misfortunes. At least you are home now & hopefully on the mend. Good luck man.

sorry to hear that man, will pray for you, hopefully you recover fast, keep us updated whenever you can and we'll show any support we can here.

zagsfan20, take care of yourself dude. I hope everything goes alright for you, I know how you must feel. I wish you good luck with everything.

That is really to bad but glad to see you are doing better. Take care and I hope and pray everything works out.

Very tough news indeed. And I do hope you are able to fully reclaim your old life.

But things like this always remind me of how fragile life really is.

Its a mystery. They think it could be genetic.

That's fucked up. Sorry to hear that Zags, get better man, seriously.

wow, sorry to hear brah. take care of yourself. hope to see you around here more often(cuz your doing good)

My brother has Ulcerative Colitis as well, he takes 3 pills 3 times a day for it but he still has a ton of problems with that stuff. That sucks that you had to get your colon removed, and it being an emergency situation makes it worse. Do you know if you would have had to have it removed if you knew about it earlier? The doctors tell my brother that he is lucky they found out about it when he was 16, but there is still a possibility for serious complications. Anyways, sending good thoughts your way, good luck in your recovery.

I wish you well in your recovery.

Peace

Glad to hear you are going to be okay. That's a tough road to travel, but keep your chin up. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

wow! Get well soon. Stay positive.

Take care man. Hope you have a good support system.

Hang in there, Zags!

Can I cover for you during Blazer games?

wow that is some scary stuff. Sorry to hear Zags, and get well soon man!

Glad you're at least well enough to post. Hope you get better, or as well as you can. And that you have good insurance!

Damn man! Sorry about all this stuff. I went thru a rough time health wise a couple years ago and I promise you'll get thru this. Too bad it's off-season huh? At least you could watch some games. Take care brother.

Oh wow. I know someone who had something similar years ago. Sorry you had to go through this.

It is a bit of a mystery. My sister had that her senior year of highschool and spent a giant amount of time in the hospital. They were able to get hers under control with meds however, and she has not had any troubles since (she is currently 30). I wish you the best with it. It can be tough to do with things like that. Just stay positive. You will get through.
