Likely not a real rumor: Prince

Doesn't sound like anything KP would want.

I doubt he rates Prince higher than TO or Martell.

Yeah, who wants somebody considered good enough to play on the Olympic team, Prince sucks

MARIS is just being logical. Clearly, Pritchard has cornered the market on the best players. If there were any player in the NBA that was better than a player on the Blazers, Pritchard would have acquired him. Obviously. Unless you think Pritchard is insane or stupid, why wouldn't he take a better player over a worse player? We have the five best players in the NBA as our starters (or will, when Webster returns) and the next seven best players in the NBA on our bench. Let the cake bake.

i would sure love that deal. i'd love it more if outlaw was included too but ill take it either way. prince is becoming a star IMO

Really? A Star?

This board can't even agree that B-Roy is a star yet (and he's 23/ppg Mr. Clutch)

Tashawn is solid - good passer, good defender, pretty good shooter. But he's a 12/4 for for his career and 13/7 this year. Looks like a complimentary player, which is fine I guess. I was hoping for someone with more fire power to be honest. Someone with a little more scoring ability.

Maybe I should be more realistic.

Just saying I think KP values who he has now and wouldn't be interested in having Prince instead of them.

Half of our team is good enough to play on an Olympic team, BTW.

Glad we cleared that up.

Bake it!

At a coffee shop a guy who claimed inside info

I laughed my ass off as sound as I read that.

But he would be a nice addition. He's a very good defender and could step up at any given time.

How often would a rumor from a guy at a coffee shop at least pass the trade checker test? I would think not often at all.

I'd love Prince. High IQ guy, makes the right plays at the right time, can handle the ball. Would be a great addition.

lmao, whats next some guy at the Liquor store tells you that LeBron is being traded to the Blazers.

No way are we giving up Shavlik. That guy's going to be a star someday.

That's a bit of an unrealistic expectation of Randolph. Dookies tend to disappoint in the NBA.

Didn't Detroit sign Prince to a long term contract after the Iverson trade? He's clearly a main part of their rebuilding plan. Wallace is a much better fit anyway.

Hey my best friend's cousin's next door neighbor's hairdresser's dog walker heard it from a friend who heard it from a waitress at Denny's who overheard KP talking on his cell phone ... though there is slight possibility that the conversation could have centered on a certain waifish, semi-androgynous, 80s pop star, and not in fact a certain NBA basketball player who happens to share a certain surname. :dunno:

Michael Jackson instead of Stephen Jackson or Prince instead of Tayshaun Prince?

Please advise!

Check this out, I got a part time job at a Starbucks last week and this guy comes in today. I tell him that I'm kind of a big deal down at the RG and how we are trading for Prince! Funny huh?

Blake
Roy
Prince
Aldridge
Oden

He'd change the whole dynamic of our starting five. Prince is what we hope Batum can turn into but having a prime Prince would be amazing to have with Roy.

But I can't get my hopes up. After all, it was from some quack at Starbucks.

I know we all got a good laugh at the coffee shop thing, but that;s why I never claimed any validity to the "rumor". And it's not like everyone in PDX from bag boys to executives don't go to coffee shops, especially in snowy days and in upscale neighborhoods.

But, as I said, this most likely is crap. I was hoping one of the few posters whom I trust had also heard a similar rumor, but I guess thats not the case. It would not surprise me at all if KP offered a deal like this, but Dumars is one smart cookie, and I doubt he would take this deal.

I was under the impression that Prince is someone that the Pistons want to build around. However, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat if it were true.

I think most people agree that Roy's a star... just not a SUPERstar.

Don't be silly - Starbucks is from Seattle. They don't even have an NBA team. Must have been someone from Peet's.

Haha, repped.

Why would the Pistons give up their best defender, and probably best all around player. They obviously picked up AI thinking that they could make a push to win the east. To Trade Prince now would be counter productive.

No they obviously did not. They picked him up for salary cap relief so they can make a run at free agents down the line when his huge contract expires. Most GM's around the league know AI has lost a step. That is generally aknowledged in basketball circles. Joe Dumars would not make a trade knowing AI has lost a step and expect to return to the promised land. Especially when he knows he only has 1 year on his contract. This is why Detroit, will move other pieces. If they are truly going to make a run at great players in the upcoming free agency crop, they will need to shed more cap room.

maybe they trade Pince because they think they have a chance at LBJ with all their cap space? Prince is notsomeone you build team around, he is a glue guy, which would be perfect for us.

I would do this trade with either Martell or Travis. I would rather send Travis though. He is a God damn moron.

Prince would be perfect for us. But I think we would have to give up Rudy or LaMarcus. And if that's the price, I would say no.

i would easily give up rudy, or bayless to get prince. i wouldnt give lamarcus though.

Anybody have a guess as to what the trade proposal including Joel was?

When Detroit lost Ben they turned their attention to Przybilla back in '05 (?)
