It seems like Blazer77' is willing to let the thread go away if we all just stopped responding it would get buried.

First off i really cannot believe this thread is even still active.
Secondly-

Dude you seriously need to go read the title YOU put on the thread. This is a fucking clown show at best you are running.
Just read it. Doesn’t say Dame is lazy.

The difference between a real MVP candidate and a borderline superstar

when Lillard gets trapped he become nearly useless

who was doing the trapping?

was AD involved in any of them in only his 2nd game back? The Lakers played without Lebron and KCP, by far their two best perimeter defenders.

and Doncic had 13 assists so I'd think the traps weren't too well constructed or constant...although he also had 6 turnovers and shot poorly

He IS playing like a bum. But he's helpful as a decoy, except when he believes his own advertising and heaves up another hopeless shot or out-of-bounds pass.

Feast or famine every single year

Feast or famine every single year

you keep saying the same dumb bullshit about Dame, over and over and over and over....so let's look at what that "feast or famine" meant last season since this one isn't over yet

last season, thru feast or famine, thru good and bad, Dame finished:

* 3rd in points/game
* 5th in assists/game
* 10th in FT%
* 4th in FT's made
* 6th in PER
* 2nd in winshares
* 1st in offensive win shares
* 8th in BoxPM
* 1st in Offensive BoxPM

and he did that while quite often being doubled and trapped, and still managed to carry a crappy team to the playoffs

sure looks like Dame is telling you to take your 'feast-or-famine-reverb-machine' and park it in your colon

I get it when you have a bad stretch that's pretty normal over the season, everyone has bad stretches, but 15 games??? C'mon man this is a joke

Jason Quick has a good article on Dame in The Athletic this morning. It basically makes the point that Dame is too beat up right now to be the lethal player we all know and love:

“But what’s different from any other time during the Lillard era is this: At the core of the Blazers’ concerns is Lillard. He is not the Damian Lillard who has so often rescued this team and carried it to the finish line. He is no longer the feared late-game assassin, whose pressure-packed daggers author magical moments. He is not that player because his body — less than three months shy of his 31st birthday — is too banged up in too many areas.

It started when he fell on a ball in January against Oklahoma City, triggering an abdominal issue. Then, in a February game in New York, his right knee went knee-to-knee with a Knicks player. Five games later, in Oklahoma City, he banged his left knee. And ever since, it’s been nagging injury after nagging injury — a bruised right hand after Steven Adams swiped down at him on March 18, another knee-to-knee on March 21 against Dallas, and yet again a knee-to-knee March 25 against Miami. Then there was another knee collision against the Clippers on April 20.”

Dame needs to sit for a couple of weeks and heal up, but he won’t have it. He says he can play and the team needs him. The team needs him alright, but they need him at as close to full strength as possible. The Blazers have lost close game after close game and in none of them has Dame Time materialized. No doubt in my mind that a healthy Dame makes four or five of the recent losses W’s. Stotts needs to sit his ass and let the rest of the team carry the load for awhile.

I’d like to see Stotts go with a starting unit of CJ, Norm, RoCo, Melo and Nurk. The bench should be Ant, Little, DJ, Giles and Kanter. At no time should Kanter and Melo be on the court together.

He said that he's inconsistent within a season, so you gave irrelevant season averages. You need to find a stat which describes consistency within a season.

Yep. Without last-minute heroics to make up for them, his too-risky passes and shots have a negative effect, after netting them with the positives. We win more with him on the bench right now.

nope, I'm not restricted to Aldo's perspective

what I was showing is that the totality of Dame's "feast or famine" averages out to a very high level. The result of the variance are the numbers of a top-10 player.

and frankly, almost every NBA player, especially shooters and scorers, have a lot of variance thru the course of a season

Okay. So you meant to say, "You're right about Lillard's inconsistency, but that's irrelevant since the overall averages show that the positives greatly outweigh those negatives. Here are those averages." But your anger sounded like you think Aldo's wrong.

His complaint is inconsistency within a season, while mine is inconsistency within a game. I dislike how Lillard misses so many low-effort passes and shots until the last few minutes, when he compensates for that.
