Lillard signs third biggest shoe deal in the league with Adidas

Now if he'd just learn to flop, he'd be on his way to superstardom.

Hopefully, this turns into respect from the refs (during the playoffs).

Lucky for The HCP, he and Dame both wear size 12s. #hookup

So weird to be 10 feet from a guy last night who just signed this contract.

I will say this, for as intense as Dame is on the court... off the court the guy is really jovial. I always thought he was kind of smug... so it's good to know I was wrong.

I haven't bought a pair of basketball shoes in years, guess i better start saving up because i'm sure his shoe will be expensive as fuck.

Does this make anyone else worried Lillard will want to get paid when his contract is up? Let's hope he wants to get big money from the shoe deal so he doesn't need as much from the Blazers. =]

This is great news for the Blazers - anything to help promote Lillard as a star should help promote our team and might lead to a favorable whistle every other month.

I know he just switched shoe companies.... but I think Lillard is loyal to the cities he gets chances from (Oakland, Utah, Portland)... He'll still get a max deal, it'll just hopefully be with Portland. Which I think he will stay.

Edit: Fail! I thought he was with some other company. Go figure, I don't care about shoes. lol.

Why are you worried? We will give him the max, which he deserves. If we tried to give him anything else it would be pretty disrespectful.

3rd largest shoe deal only behind D.Rose and L.James?!?! That's crazy if its true!

No he didn't.

Small "elbows" and you can't read? Shit, that's a lot of strikes.

I thought Lillard did have some kind of threat or implication he was going to walk away from Adidas though?

What's there to worry about, he'll get a max offer, if not from us, from someone else.

He exercised his option out of his Adidas deal, but it was all part of a play to get a much larger contract. It sounded like the "threat" was a no-brainer and understood by all parties. In the end, he stayed with Adidas and we didn't really hear anything about him pursuing a deal elsewhere, so it probably remained pretty amicable the entire way.

Seriously? He's getting paid in Portland, so he won't feel the need to make money in a bigger market.

If anything, i think this will help bring bigger name players here. Now they see a guy can get a huge show deal even in small Portland.
