Lillard walking with noticeable limp in locker room after the game tonight.

Lol.

Shut him down the rest of the season San Antonio style so we can get our Tim Duncan!

There is no Tim Duncan in the 2017 draft. Not even close.

Four of the top five projected picks are freshman PGs. Yeah, just what we need to build our dynasty. We already have an undersized back court with two proven 20+ ppg scorers, but hey, let's get smaller and younger Yeah, that'll work.

Tanking is stoopid, and it's for losers.

We had a shot at our Tim Duncan. We passed on Kevin Durant.

No.

Kevin Durant is no Tim Duncan.

By the time Tim Duncan had been in the league nine years, he had four rings, and didn't have to desert the team that drafted him and go ring chasing elsewhere to do it.

That's a measure of coach, system, and teammates.

We whiffed on the guy who won MVP, appeared in the finals a few times, 7 time all star, league leading scorer a few times, and led the league in playoff scoring a few times.

If you want to wait for someone better to tank for, good luck.

I'm not saying Durant isn't a great player, but he's still no Tim Duncan. Duncan is arguably the greatest power forward of all time. Durant isn't even the greats small forward of his generation.

BNM

You sound butt hurt.

How so, just because I think Tim Duncan is better than Kevin Durant? I also think LeBron James is better, because, well he is.

Frankly, I'm glad he left OKC. They are a division rival and I hate the way their lying owners stole that team from Seattle. So, anything that weakens their team is OK by me.

I will never bemoan the fact that we didn't pick Durant. It would be like crying over a losing ticket in a fixed horse race......

Durant hasn't been to the finals a few times, he's been there once.

Through 9 seasons:

Durant: 7 time All Star
Duncan : 8 time All Star (would have been 9, but there was no All Star game in 1998-99 because of the lock out.)

Durant: 1 time league MVP
Duncan: 2 time league MVP

Durant:
Duncan: 3 time finals MVP

Durant: 1st team All NBA 5 times, 2nd team All NBA 1 time
Duncan: 1st team All NBA 8 times, 2nd team All NBA 1 time

Durant:
Duncan: 1st team All Defense 8 times, 2nd team All Defense 1 time

Not saying Durant isn't a great player, just not one of THE all time greats like Duncan.

Duncan would make the Hall of Fame on his defense alone (he's second all time in Defensive Win Shares, trailing only Bill Russell), but he's also 14th on the career scoring list. Durant may some day pass him on the career scoring list, but he'll never be considered on of the greatest defensive players in the history of the game.

If you want to wait for someone better to tank for, good luck.

No thanks. I already said I think tanking is stoopid. So, why would I want to wait and tank for someone better? Which is doubly irrelevant, since there isn't even a Kevin Durant in the 2017 draft, let alone a Tim Duncan.

You mean tanking THIS YEAR is stupid FOR A TEAM WITH A GOOD PG.

Which isn't even true, because a top pick is always a valuable commodity to trade.

Rest him..this season is irrelevant anyway.

He needs to sit for a few games since it doesn't really matter the way they are playing anyhow. Don't play on a sore ankle and make it worse like last year when he started to get plantar fasciitis and it got the point he couldn't even practice.

I have to agree this is shaping up as a throw away season. No need to push our star player when he's injured. Dame though will not be put in a corner ;)

That's not to say we should "tank". We should not. The Blazers should try to compete every game, and pursue any trade that improves the team going forward.

At the current pace and performance however, the losses may take care if themselves. No tank needed.

unfortunately I don't think we need to "try to tank" the way we have been playing, it seems to come naturally this year. If Lillard or CJ goes down then its tank city just by itself.

are any of those PG taller ones that can play D and might be ready to contribute next yr? If they are then trade CJ if we get a top 5 pick
