Lillard's and Aldridge's relationship. (He will come back Portland one day)

Really? Who's his coach?

Exactly.

He gets back here and would revert. He's NEVER liked post play.

He's a Center now. We don't need one.

To me, that's the biggest question: PF or C? Could he play PF alongside Nurk? He still has the outside shot, but he's gotten pretty big over the years. Not sure he can cover a lot of PFs on defense. If he can't play PF, then the only spot for him is with the second unit. Would he accept that when his contract is up in SA? Doubtful, but who knows. Kanter won't be here most likely, so a quality backup C would be great. Just not sure I see LMA taking that assignment yet.

If we're talking 2-3 years from now, he can be Nurk's backup.

Sorry but in 2-3 years from now if Collins is still on the roster. I figure he's going to be more of an impactful two way player than Aldridge at 36.
Collins is a Center who can play the 4.
Aldridge really has always been a Center who plays the 4.

"I still want to end my legacy on a high note, instead of fading into obscurity."

Its probably more about him than him giving a damn about the Blazers. He knows wherever he goes, he'll get relegated into a bench role sooner, rather than later, in Portland, he has a pre-existing legacy he probably thinks he can recapture and end his career on a good note.
If he wants to ring chase in Portland on a reasonable deal, or get traded here for our existing "PFs", I'd give him a shot. I'm not seeing any better options walking in that door.

The problem is I don't see LaMarcus ever accepting a bench role.
But if he did how much could they realistically pay him to play here. The Blazers would have to get a pretty good deal to be able to take him back. I would think the only way he could come back would be to take a pretty big cut.

Dame is recruiting an All Star power forward who says he wants to play in Portland. And who says he knows it's Dame's team. And people are rejecting the idea?

Hahaha.

Exactly!

Well Aldridge is still under contract next year and the Spurs would have to eat $7 million dollars two years from now if they wanted him off the team.

I think it would make more sense as a trade (if it happened) otherwise in two years we'd probably have the cap to sign him.

Funny to see so much hate. Fact is, Dame knows better than any of us if bringing LA back is the right decision. If he is onboard with it, everyone should be onboard with it.

What's Dame supposed to say though? "Fuck that guy, we don't want him back!" What would that accomplish?

Something like Man would have been nice, but we arfe in different directions now.

Really though. I agree with Dame Culture. If he wants him back, Ill support it.

And like it has been noted by myself and some others. People grow and nobody in here knows if he is don't growing or not. But its obvious he has grown since he has left.

The HELL he does! He wanted Melo on the team. He backs Stotts.
Dame is a hell of a player, but I don't want him making personnel decisions.

Good point. However in this instance he knows exactly what we are missing and what LMA brings. In this instance I trust Dame.

I just keep having these images of Old Man LMA coming back ... kind of like Old Man Logan, but without the mutant healing ability or the natural coolness. In other words, pretty much the opposite of Old Man Logan.

lmao! So we should have posters in this forum make those decisions? I will trust Lillards judgement over anyone in this forums judgement 24/7.

Why?
All due respect to Dame, plenty of ex players have shown they arent good at talent evaluation, or coaching or any of the skills required to make “those decisions”.

You might think were all idiots but I assure you the statistical probabality that all the posters on this site are just completely incapable of making good decisions is very low.

Come on guys. The threat of Aldridge making shots from his office inside the elbow would in no way interfere with Nurk's game, and would make this team a legit contender.

That is assuming Stotts could properly assimilate Dame/CJ/Aldridge/Nurk/Jake (Mo)

Not saying it's going to happen of course.
