I would be interested to hear your opinion if you actually came down and saw what all goes into a broadcast. I really would. The amount of communication needed for 3 straight hours that it takes. If my producer wants to see a replay of something, we show it. If my director wants to show a certain camera angle, we show it. If I want to show highlights of a certain player, we show it. We have been nominated 5 times for Emmys and won 2. Thats a pretty big deal. I'm not sure what field of work your in, but I'm sure if you won an award for what you do, you earned it.
The director, myself and our graphics guy work in Vegas for the league on their summer broadcast. Of ALL 30 teams, they bring us 3 in. I think we are deserving. So the industry itself says we are damn good at what we do.
Why don't you come down and take a look at what it takes, then critique.
