LMA wants out?

Who do you take #1, then? You're basically trading JJ Hickson and a volume shooter in Waiters, plus the #1, for LMA.

Actually, Hickson is a better scorer and rebounder, and has a little more size than Thompson.

Roll the dice on Noel/Len

Lillard
Waiters
Batum
Thompson
Noel

Suck one more year, and then be ready for next year with a ton of talent

None of us know what LMA is telling the Blazers.

IF he wants out, the team would be idiots to not explore their options.

Noel destroyed his knee

Len had a stress fracture in his foot

You don't touch any of these guys with a 10ft poll. Stay away.

That's a 20-win team. If the idea is for Paul Allen to sell the team to Chris Hansen and move it to Seattle, maybe you're on to something.

If not, that's just silly.

I don't understand why many people are fixated on drafting this draft's horrible crop of bigs, when there are some good little men available. Size is nice, but talent is better.

Even if he doesn't want out, the team would be idiots to rule out trading him if it makes the team better next year.

That's not what this thread it about, though.

If the Blazers got the #1 pick I'm all for Oladipo at #1

Then the Blazers royally suck next year and draft one of Wiggins/Parker and ship Batum out

Trading Aldridge can make sense if you plan to be Charlotte bad next year and get a top pick for the 2014 draft

It would all depend on what happens in 2014, though.

25% chance, and then he'll force his way out after his rookie deal to play for a decent team in a larger market.

Then Parker...

2014 draft is comparable to 2003 draft, you'll get a great player unless you draft Milicic

We'll see. I'm not sold on Parker at all. Plus, all of the young players listed in your idea will need new contracts before Wiggins/Parker are able to be extended. Going young is fool's gold in this new NBA, and under this CBA. If you have an elite player, you should keep him, IMO, unless you get a better player in return.

parker is legit, hes the carmelo (but with a great work ethic/bbiq/personality) to wiggins lebron

So the plan is to suck next year, and then hope to get one of the Top 2 picks in 2014?

OK, that doesn't really seem like a plan ... more like a wish.

It's definitely sad that the only good reasoning of a Aldridge trade is a wish, but it is.

#1, #19, Thompson isn't a good reason to trade Aldridge. But the Blazers would be so bad that they would end up with a top pick in the 2014 draft. Basically being so bad is the best result of the trade and not the trade itself.

And with our luck, we end up with the 4th pick.

Why can't you at least consider the idea that Aldridge wants out and that it's not about running him off? I am with Brian. I think Aldridge is gone one way or another when his contract is up, and I think it will most likely be a team in Texas.

Bump

If you can't be happy, at least gloat that you were right, eh?

The writing was on the wall two years ago. We could have cashed him in for young talent and lottery picks. We held onto the hope that he would change his mind, and it was a foolish decision. The Wolves, in the meantime, traded their All-Star forward for Andrew Wiggins. This was by far Neil's biggest mistake.

So yes, you want to be right on the internet because you can't be happy in real life.

Honestly BC, I really wouldn't care, but Brian and I took so much shit from this forum two years ago because we held this opinion. And not only did we take shit about it two years ago, but some people never let us forget about it either. They brought it up when Aldridge said he wanted to retire as the greatest Blazer of all time. They brought it up when he said he wanted to sign an extension but he was waiting until he could get the 5th year. Why can't I bring it up now when it turns out that we were right all along? How is that fair?

Give it a rest, drama queen

Agreed. dumbass bump at a horrible time. From a mod, no less.

Right, because when he re-signed here, nobody would have brought up how all the "haters were wrong" about him two years ago?

There should be a fucking penalty for necro'ing a thread.
