...coming soon to a US city center near you. :devilwink:

What are they rioting about? Hopefully a national dental plan.

Some guy got shot by the cops, and now it's turned into a riot against the "rich".

True sarcasm doesn't need green fonts, but it does need quotes.

Cops should put a bullet into a couple of their heads, and the riots would end quickly. Fuck them and their excuse to steal and vandalize.

Now that some dissatisfied people are trying to overthrow Britain, why doesn't Khadaffi have his diplomats go around to European capitals, form an alliance, and get a humanitarian bombing war started?

The humanitarian war would merely protect the dissatisfied British while they overthrow the government that the dissatisfied hate because they're jailbirds. The purpose wouldn't be to take over Britain's riches, of course.

We will know just how unpopular the government is by how long it will take our vastly superior technology to "persuade" the majority to overthow it.

France and Britain, as you recall, are the main two protagonists in the Libyan war.

wasn't this happening in Madison, Wisconsin at the fair last week? Black people were attacking random whytes?

I also read, the cost cuts on public services are also the cause of the riots.

Causes of the riots

Various opinions have been expressed in the press and elsewhere, suggesting possible contributory factors to the unrest; these include the following:

* Fatal shooting of a suspect by the police
* Local tensions with police
* High unemployment and cuts in public services
* Economic crisis
* Poverty; the growing gap between rich and poor
* Lowest social mobility in the developed world
* Criminal opportunism
* Recreational violence
* The Chief Constable of the West Midlands Police force is reported to have characterised the behaviour of rioters in Birmingham as being motivated by greed, not anger.

I think it's the culmination of frustration of a society trying to be a socialist state on a capitalistic means of paying for it. The unemployment, high taxation, big government intervention....... eventually people can't take it anymore.

I think it's all of those except the first. There's no way they're really motivated by a series of police murders. They're faking. Everyone loves living in a police state.

This is why it is ridiculous to think that a large government program, like Obamacare, can be reduced or removed in the future... even though it is a fiscal blackhole.

Here's some fascinating footage. Looks straight out of a movie.

I'm going to London on the 21st LOL.

Yeah, it's straight out of a movie... "Children of Men"

I was about to say wrong thread, but then I thought about it and realized this applies everywhere people don't want to take responsibility. :D

By that you are referring of course to Bush's lifelong refusal to take responsibility for anything at all.

I think you're very wrong to assume the British will riot if Obamacare is messed with.

Bobbies are a real life parody of law enforcement.

The riots actually started when 15 Bobbies beat the crap out of a 16 year old girl in front of a crowd.

Another example of how mainstream media buries and censors the news you see and hear everyday.

The entire world now believes it had something to do with a gang member who shot at police later on (he didn't).

Conservatives blame the riots on the government for being too liberal. Liberals blame the government for spending cuts. But only the rioters blame the obvious--the police for murdering someone.

I clicked to see other articles by your conservative writer Max Hastings. He has a very different point of view about Libya that we see in the American media. Read the sharp remarks from the Defense Secretaries of 1) France and 2) the U.S. which are:

1) Gerard Longuet said that Khaddafi can not only stay in Libya, but actually in full power like a Putin. "M. Longuet suggested that Gaddafi might be able to remain in Libya, ‘in another room of the palace, with another title’." 2) Gates threatened to pull out of NATO if Europe can't handle such a little war by itself.

the rioters are fucking trash. that's the bottom line.

I see one direct reason followed by a bunch of conspiracy theories.
