That's a great piece, and I'd love to hear the what the opposing viewpoint has to say. I don't think we're far off from that description of our younger generations.

Please explain to me how a cop shooting someone means that one has the right to loot a clothing store. Or steal a TV. Or set a car on fire. Or (if you're a stupid 16y/o girl) that you get to commit assault on a uniformed policeman.

That's the biggest load of crap I've read in some time, and displays a glaring ignorance of the life of the average Brit.

the "average" Brit isn't looting. The average feral, welfare-bred, non-educated, drug-using Gen Y looter seems pretty well described and documented in that piece.

Well, it's pretty much the same as how a maniacal religious sect crashing a few jets into buildings means that one has the right to attack 3 innocent countries and murder around 1 million men, women and children who had nothing to do with it. Or level all their infrastructure including schools, hospitals, mosques...

Maybe that's how you're raising your kids, but I know a lot of young people and I am generally impressed with them. It's the 40 and older crowd that's dragging this country down. Young people will always be the bright spot in any society. Avarice and bitterness are learned traits which require decades to fully develop.

That IS the average Brit.

So your contention is that these young people are the bright spot of the British society, and that their avarice and bitterness are traits they've learned well ahead of the decades you think it's supposed to take? You seem to be all over the place here.

You are responding to my opinion of American youth, not British youth.

They have few similarities beyond their age.

So Great Britain is no longer a "society"?
