First question is duration of ownership. Keeping only while under warranty? My wife and I have narrowed it down to either a Nissan, Camry or Volvo s60 Hybrid. We need awd.
Any suggestions? Especially from you, Bodyman.
We average our ownership about 15 years. This time, because of our advanced age, we'll probably own for 5 to 10 years.First question is duration of ownership. Keeping only while under warranty?
Have you looked at Subaru? They're famous for AWD.
My "it's not a cool car in any way and everyone has one" recommendation is a certified used Rav4.I like the Toyotas...my in law has a 4 wheel drive Honda he likes a lot....seems like a well put together SUV
I'm not up to date but last I recall the Nissan CVTs are a ticking time bomb. The Toyota is likely going to be the best as far as reliability and depreciation is concerned. I heard nothing but good things about the Volvo from people that drove it - but none of them bought one because of service and reliability concerns. Nissan? What Nissan. I have friends that work at the Nissan design center for the USA and like some of the designs - but I am not a big fan of most of their cars from recent years - they seem to be in a race to the bottom as far as quality is concerned, or at least that is my impression.
To the best of my knowledge - there is no Camry AWD at this point.
The new Camry body style is awesome. I would prob go with an accord, personally
My reco is a legacy at Wilsonville Subaru. Also the Eyesight technology is great for traffic.

Why do you need awd?
GERMAN GERMAN GERMAN!
Lives in the West Hills, fat house.
My solution to living in the foothills without 4 wheel drive is to just stay home when the roads are badHe lives in LO.

I don’t know what it is. From my mom and dad’s VW Karman Ghia, Bus, or bug. Or my first car, an ‘83 VW Rabbit GTI to my current A6.......there is just something about getting behind the wheel of a German vehicle. Mine now, it’s the smell of it, the way it handles in the curves, I just will never get anything else but German from now on. I won’t hate on Accords or Camrys, they are the top two selling cars for a reason, but it’s just not me. I get them as rentals cars for work all the time, but they just don’t have that same feeling. Wish I could explain better. I have a V8 AWD and love it!EXPENSIVE! EXPENSIVE! EXPENSIVE!
Expensive to buy. Expensive to maintain. Expensive to repair. And are they really worth it?

The Accord's had a lot of cool gadgets, but they didn't fit my body very well. I remember the arm rest being very low, so I couldn't rest my arm on it. Just a comfort thing. Otherwise a very nice car.
Volvo is now Chinese owner. Not as good of a car and also spare parts could be expensive if Trump continues his trade war with them.
Nissan is okay.
Camry is Camry, nice car, kinda boring.
Look at the Lexus IS 300 or 350 AWD. It's a Camry on steroids. Great looks, value, and reliability.
