With Roy back... the only way Rudy gets meaningful minutes is if someone's in foul trouble. He has played his way off the team. Sometimes you hear that phrase in sports where its exaggerated but in this case... rudy really has x2.

Gotta agree; but that's okay: if he'd been playing well, he'd want to leave and be a starter somewhere else. At least now we have the backup SG situation worked out. :D

Rudy got his chance and couldn't have done any worse.

I don't think he'll have much of any value so he probably stays on the team next season. I hope he can get healthy if his back is still bothering him and work on his game, he has had a very bad season and it's nobodies fault but his own.

I agree with MIXUM!
:D

Which Rudy? Rudy Fernandez? MIXUM Rudy? Or both? I kid.

My roommate and I literally drove next to Rudy for 3-4 minutes on the way home from the game while Batum was being interviewed LIVE on the radio... So Rudy must have bailed out of there quickly. I was wearing Blazer gear and when I realized it was Rudy I started waving my arms like a crazy person and he literally didn't acknowledge me or even crack a smile.... He did not look happy.

are you sure it was rudy lol

It's been a rough year for Rudy. I do still hope that he gets things together and can find a way to contribute somehow, but this playoff stretch has been pretty much an unmitigated disaster for him.

I think he'll make an excellent contribution as trade ballast in some draft day deal when we package him up with 3 million in cash, a draft pick and maybe some other player.

I watched the whole Cirque du Rudy occur after he was pulled from the game. Either Nate or Monty said something in regards to defense and Rudy walked by with his arms fully extended to each side with a big shrug. He went and stood near the end of the bench, meanwhile Camby went and spoke with Monty after watching the exchange. After speaking with Monty, Camby walked over to Rudy to have a talk, but just before he got there Rudy slammed his towel to the ground. When Camby tried to speak with Rudy, he was pretty much blown off. Rudy never returned and sat at the end of the bench for the rest of the game.

I think he is done, and I think he might even be traded before the draft once we are out of the playoffs.

That's very interesting ...

Ugh. That is disgusting.

Gosh dang Rudy, what is your problem? I know more sucking up to Bayless coming my way (big shock. eh?), but he never pouted when things wouldn't go his way, he would just keep working to try and prove himself. I am sure before the Roy injury going into the playoffs, he knew he wouldn't get much time and I don't think he would have responded by pouting. True, he may be upset about it just like Rudy because they are competitors and want to play and I know Bayless has kind of had a sour look when going to the bench, but I think that has more to do with him being upset with himself and his play. Unless I missed an article or something about it, Bayless has never pouted to where he has gotten. That is what I like most about him.

Bayless pouted a little to the press, but nothing like the temper tantrum Rudy's throwing.

Ahh okay. I guess it doesn't surprise me, but I had not heard of anything that he has. But like I said he is always working on his game trying to get better, so at least he tries to do something about it.

Either his back is a mess, or he is suffering from a severe case of cranial-rectal inversion.

It was really minor: whenever he was interviewed, he'd say something like "I'm just trying to make the most of the very limited time I'm getting out there. I want more time, but I know I have to earn it." -- a little passive-aggressive, but nothing major. I sympathized with him, to be honest.

Passive-aggresive is a vet move, and I'm glad Bayless went that route. He's playing his way into the future of this franchise, and not having to give Malcontent Rudy playing time should free up Jarryd even more next season.

I'm glad I wasnt the only one who noticed that. I saw him slam his towel down. And Camby did a sort of pat him on the back gesture.

I will be disappointed if he isn't moved this off-season. Mixum must be really confused about everyone agreeing with him.

I think we should trade him for LeBron while we still can...

Wait, probably to late.

The more emotional Rudy gets, the more I like him. Right now he's very down on himself, on McMillan's system, on I don't know what. His conscious mind doesn't know it, but the emotion is a self-motivation technique.

This is how stars are. He developed a self-image of stardom in Europe and he's mad that he can't live up to his own expectations here.

Consider the alternative. This thread seems to want him to be a nice guy, the type the Oregonian loves, fuzzy and interview-friendly. No raw emotion please. But many top stars are unlikeable and work themselves into a frenzy before games. I remember when the Blazers went down 0-2. Walton bashed in a locker. They won that series, the championship.

I hope Rudy throws more towels on the floor for a couple of years until he figures out what he needs to. He's learning to be as intense as Bayless, and since he has more talent, when he absorbs Bayless' personality he'll be better than Bayless. He may have been traded by then, but the emotion that disgusts all of you will push him up the mountain.
