He's absolutely beasting this year. Exceeding even my most positive expectations for him.

9/9/1 with 1.5 blocks in 30.5 mpg.

Shooting 52% from the field, and 80% from the FT line.

He is the perfect role player at center for this team. Olshey won big time in getting him. He has turned into one of those player who if they were on another team, you'd want to trade for just for the dirty work and the leadership.

QFT

He's tougher than I expected him to be. His leadership is more than I expected. His offense is better than I had hoped. So, yeah, definitely exceeded my expectations. Olshey done gud.

Go Blazers

Lopez is absolutely beasting and making others around him better

I can see Ropez (tm) becoming a fan favorite along the lines of a Brian Grant, or a Marcus Camby (ugh ... MARCUS CAMBY clap clap clapclapclap ...MARCUS CAMBY...).

He has a bit of Frye in him that he likes the weirdness of Portland, yet he's the anti-Frye in that he loves to be inside and pound the boards. He may be the best Blazer free agent acquisition since ... who?

It was a trade. He was not a free agent. But it was THE BEST trade in the NBA this past summer. I dig your thread. I said this to my companions at the game. Bigger than Houston getting Howard. The biggest offseason acquisition was us getting Lopez. 33-49 last year. This year, 20-4, Aldridge's production skyrocketing every game. This is bigger than Buck Williams. I'm sorry but we might win the championship this year if no one gets hurt. We are that good.

You're right. Not sure why I said FA, other than I'm working 24/7 in Montana for a step-dad who is mentally out of it, and I've been consulting with various lawyers all week. Even with that, I should have known Ropez was a trade, and not a FA signing. Ugh. KS, thanks for pointing out my error. I usually don't make those errors!

He is the biggest impact trade acquisition since the Wallace/Brooklyn deal.

Ugh, I hope things go well for you. Sounds like you're in the middle of a bad situation.

So much respect for Neil after the offseason that he had.

Lopez was huge, but TRob was also a great acquisition. As much as I complain about Mo, he was still a big free agent signing considering his contract. So was Wright. I knew we were going to be much improved this season, but I had no idea we'd be THIS good.

Today he was the glue that kept this team from being blown out going into the fourth.

He's so consistent. Great shooting percentage, tons of offensive rebounds, and there's so many things he does that don't show up in the box score.
