I've read this sentence 4 times now and still don't think I understand it. Are you saying that there are contenders that have cap issues in major markets, or that there aren't contenders in major markets, or that cap issues only apply to small markets?

Pretty sure he is saying that the majority of teams with cap issues are those in big markets, who are therefore likely to be able to afford those high salaries. Also add to that that they are contenders, so lessreason for them to dump someone because of salary.

Exactly. Sorry for my lack of clarity, PapaG.

No problem. Nobody had commented on your post that actually had a link, and I was wondering if it was because people couldn't understand the point being made. Hell, I write bad sentences all the time.

not gonna be any superstars for sale i doubt, but theres always the 2nd/3rd tier guys like granger/stoudemire...meh

Or, trade LMA away for Greg Monroe and bench players who play for a bad team.

Because that's how you build a champion! Sell your All-Star big in his prime for a younger big, with limited offensive skills, and a bunch of D-leaguers for the bench.

:)

yeah that would be the opposite of this thread, that goes in the "should we let another team do a lopsided trade from us?" thread
