Almost everyone here falls into a trap of saying that "REALITY has set in" after losses. It's always the wins were phony flukes, while the losing showed who we really are. Well I am here to turn it around. After all, we've won more than we've lost.

Blowout losses to Warriors & Thunder= flukes

Blowout wins vs Cavs and Warriors= reality

Beating the Thunder at Moda Center= reality check. we're that good. gonna have to face it

There are too many people here who flat out forget about the wins. We're having a great season. Everyone gets blown out on the road by a crappy team now and then. A 2-2 split is a big success on this trip for this team. I think NOP and DAL are very beatable so if we can beat the Spurs on Thursday, a 3-1 trip is possible.

Go Blazers

Preach it. I said 2-2. I'll take it all day.

We're not as bad as most thought, we're not as good as you think.

Exactly right. Most realistic fans don't think they are as bad as the team that got smoked by Philly nor are they nearly as good as the team that blew out the Warriors. They are better than we thought in a Conference that is overall much worse than what we all thought as well.

I agree with most of what you say and I think your optimism is freaking awesome, its just hard to ignore this weird trend going on with the blazers on the road where defense seems to have reverted back to the earlier days of the season.

The last 5 road games we've let the opposition score about 120ppg. I haven't given up on them by any means, but man I hope these couple days off Stotts can instil some urgency on the defensive end like I know he can (cause he did it a couple months ago).

Make it a game with the spurs and go 2-2 on this trip!

DEFENSE (clap clap) DEFENSE!

I think even just getting 1 win on this road trip would be awesome, and will be needed if we want a chance at the 6 seed or better. There is a good chance we will dip below .500 or close to it, but make a strong surge at the end of the season to finish around 42-44 wins, firmly in the playoffs. So I expect a lot of people to push the panic butting in the next week or so, but cooler heads will prevails by seasons end.

My philosophy with this season is pretty much what the coach always says....one game at a time...just do me a favor fans and don't predict failure pregame...you win some and you lose some..we're doing fine. Twice a week I work with a disabled guy who's a college hoops junkie and I've never seen more college ball on TV in my life than while at his place.....warning...the draft isn't producing any game changers for the Blazers this draft and Simmons and Sabonis are way overrated in my view. Meyers Leonard would destroy D Sabonis and B Simmons all day long even though folks think he sucks

It's just taxing because of how we are losing. BOS-- blowout, DET -- blowout, GS-- blowout, OKC-- blowout.

That's four out of our last seven games we might as well have not shown up. Really feel like the schedule has been brutal to us. So much time on the road, back to backs, etc etc. Very tough stretch.

What about the blowouts in our favor this season?

The schedule has been tough but at the end of the season, all the teams play the same amount of games in the same amount of time. Yes, Portland logs more air miles than about everyone by Miami but that didn't slow them down when they've won titles. If Portland has a tough stretch it is balanced out by an easy stretch somewhere else.

Of course if you listen to Barrett, it sounds like Portland plays a back-to-back every night and plays 100 games in the season while everyone else only plays 70.

Miami has a lot more teams right near them than we do. We travel much more than they do.

Yes they do but I remember seeing a travel chart which had POR and MIA with the most miles and MIA actually had more. That didn't make sense to me either but that's what it indicated. Either way, Blazers and Miami are at the 'corners' of the league. If you have a good enough team, it doesn't matter. MIA has 3 titles in the last 10 years.

It also has to do with WHERE you are scheduled to play and when. You might end up criss crossing instead of the most efficient route.

Last season, Golden St traveled the most.

In 2013/14 it was MIN with the most miles.

It's happening almost word for word as i told you it would. Now that to me IS REALITY.
You can't deny this is exactly what i told you would happen.

You predicted we'd be 35-33 including blowouts of Cleveland and GS? Link?

I'm elderly enough to remember when NBA teams flew on regular commercial flights and endured the same BS as everybody else. When I was a wee one, they still used buses for the shorter trips. Sorry if the private jets and 4 star hotels don't strike me as a huge hardship!

Many of today's players are mental marshmallows.

Globetrotters probably still do that..they put on more miles than anybody
