Love vs Henderson

We haven't seen Scoot for awhile, so it's worth remembering that he is as unique a player as anyone else on the roster, and that at his best, he is an NBA star. Still 21 years old, turning 22 on February 3rd.

No guard on the Blazers, not even Jrue or Dame, is better leading transition. Wesley might be faster end to end with the dribble, but Scoot can almost match Wesley in pace but is much more under control and much more aware of his teammates with the pass.

Scoot is the physically strongest guard on the Blazers. (I count Deni as a forward, but, even then, Scoot and Deni are probably very close in physical strength anyway). EDIT: Probably should mention Sidy in the discussion, too, but I'd give Scoot the edge even there).

Scoot can play through contact.

Again, next to Wesley, Scoot is the fastest guard on the Blazers.

Scoot probably has the second-best vertical leap on the Blazers.

Next to Dame, Scoot is probably the quickest with the basketball.

Scoot is not a defensive liability.

Scoot shares the ball and doesn't even need to be ball-dominant to do it.

Scoot seems to be a very good, enthusiastic, supportive teammate.

Selling Scoot short because people expected more out of him immediately as the No. 3 pick is one of the three widely-held biases on this board along with bigs can't defend the perimeter so they're worthless and name any Gonzaga player and the Blazers should pick him up because he'd be great here. but Scoot's shown progress in his game and also an awareness of what needs to improve in his game. It just seems to me that a lot of fans have arrested development with him that he's still the same player he was as a rookie and can't get any better and the guard of the moment always will be better than Scoot.

might not be room in this thread if you don't overrate one or the other

I think Scoot is probably a better player going forward but I don't quite recognize Scoot as the player some of praise here is claiming he is/will be
Scoot is a god damn beast. Need him healthy is all. I know he’s working his ass off to get back out there!

I can’t give up on a 21 year old. Not saying he will ever be mvp caliber but he still has a good chance of being good and making the team better. He is probably the best passer on the team.
