LOL you think it's surprising that Nate misused his line up?

In general, no. But, given that his one, and only, offensive set requires a forward who does nothing but stand in the corner and wait for the kick out, he would have realized Babbitt is perfect for that role.

I just saw this video on realgm and thought I should post it in this thread.

Luke needs to add this dance to his repertoire. Dougie goin out of style now, but C walk is gonna stay fresh forever.

I'm so loving the emergence of Babbitt as an elite shooter in this league. They should put him in the 3 point contest next year. He could win it. He shoots so effortlessly.

I'm gonna say that I was seriously "DEAD WRONG" about Babbitt. How many people hate on Felton now, was how I hated on him then. The kid actually rebounds, defends and is a willing passer. His range is insanely "Durant or Kobe" good (I am only comparing range, not quality so don't jump on me assholes). Got to love me some Babbitt! Not bad. Not bad at all!

I'm really happy to see Babbitt getting the PT to ward off the nervous bug and showcase his talent. His shot has always been pure - dating back to when I watched him play at Galena in Reno, and my Univ. of Nevada. We knew he was special when he would shoot out of bounds sideline shots like FTs. He's a shy kid, and I know this attention is a little overwhelming for him - but he'll manage just fine. His shy demeanor will grow on you - nothing flashy. I'm also really happy to see all the Babbitt signs in the Rose Garden.

i think babbitt could eventually turn into a once in a generation defensive center

McMillan ruined other players, too. Imagine if he'd had Babbitt another 2 years, long enough to make Babbitt think that because he's not a star on defense, he should lose confidence in his shot. McMillan's priorities were upside-down, yet his system required several great shooters.

I kinda want Bayless and Sergio back now.

And Josh McRoberts - although you can't have both him and Bayless.

Sergio - meh.

Rudy - how much of that was Nate and how much was Trevor Ariza?

I'm sure we could get Taureen Green back. He still owes us 3 or 4 wins.

The guy who did this video has done over 3000 of these. Bizarre.

This is amazing... the font, the explosions, the use of d-league PER...

Amazing.

As for Babbitt: I wasn't sure he was going to pan out, but I know that if/when a player has an amazing ability to shoot the ball, he has a chance to stick in the league. Babbitt might just be on a hot streak, but hopefully he comes back to earth at a level that lets him contribute next year when we all want the Blazers to win every game :)

He was 3-6 FGM/FGA, and 2-4 3PM/3PA, with all 4 free throws made to have a total of 12 pts vs MiL.

Seems like 8-12 with a couple long bombs is his new average. I can get on board with that, and with him as a rotation player. If teams aren't scouting him a little, they're idiots, so it's not like he's not being guarded well. He just needed a haircut. :D

Teams are definitely not giving Babbitt as much room out at the three point line as they were just a few games ago. His setup and release are a bit slow, but deadly if you give him room. When they run out and take away his three-pointer, he doesn't hesistate to put it on the floor and look to pass or go into the lane for the teardrop or bank shot, which he can make. He's not very polished at it yet, but give him time, and minutes. If Batum's knees are bothering him, they should sit Batum and play Babbitt more.

Babbitt showed tonight that he had a little hookshot in his arsenal and he could hit the 3 pointer from deep against the Suns.

I already bought his jersey last week as a believer for a 3 baller and building confidence in his game play. Defensively, yes he needs to improve more but its obvious he can score.
