Lets see he can't dribble, create, SHOOT or play defense. Other then that he was a great pick in the first round by Kpee. Seriously cut this guy now!

Yeah! Cut this guy and his guaranteed rookie deal! Wtf was pa thinking amnestying Roy?!?!

i was gonna post the same. cut these nevada st kids asap.

He can dribble, shoot and defend...just not very well. At least not in games.

But his guaranteed rookie contract runs through next year. He won't get any minutes with how he's playing, and if he shows no improvement, Blazers will let him go and he'll probably go play in Europe.

Doesn't Larry Bird have almost as many illegitimate as Shawn Kemp?

Maybe Luke is one of them.

I think we already saw the genetic test take place on the court. Did you see anything "Bird" like out there tonight?

Could there be anyone less athletic than Babbitt? I've never seen a player his size lumber around the court like that. He looks unbelievably slow and completely nonathletic.

i would say diebler has a better shot at being a bird

Ironic that you should ask. Remember this?

NBA draft measurables

Luke Babbitt was really helped here. A 37.5-inch vertical, a 3.19 second sprint and an impressive 10.98 lane agility score blew away a few GMs I spoke with. The thinking was that he had poor lateral quickness. This measurement disputes that. We've had him No. 12 on our Mock Draft for two straight weeks. We might have him too low.

ESPN Insider

I remember all the buzz that he had the 2nd highest vertical in the draft, and he was one of the best athletes in the class. That sure hasn't translated into what we see in on the floor.

No way Babbitt would of been drafted in the first round if we didn't take him. This guy has no business wearing a NBA uniform. And neither does Armon Johnson. Horrible mis-judgment of talent. This will be Babbitt's last year in the NBA.

Any GM drafting because of workouts is a complete moron. How many times has that theory burned GM's? A LOT! Thank god Kpee is gone and this franchise can move forward. He drafted Bayless cause of that workout crap too.

That just goes to show that the "eyeball test" is the best test of all. I still think it's about his confidence; he has the ability to move better but he isn't sure what move to make so he looks slow and clumsy. Just looking at him, I seriously doubt he will ever find that confidence, at least not in the NBA.

Yeah, I sure don't see that kind of athleticism on the court. The guy lumbers like someone who is 7'6.

Babbitt's face is a twin for Jack Sikma, not Larry Bird. Like Sikma, Babbitt might become good at catch and shoot, though Daddy was already great as a rookie. So it looks like Babbitt is an offspring of Sikma and will be a shooting PF or C.

if you don't like a blazer player or have a negative opinion in this forum, you are mixum.

what are some of you ten years old?

and luke babbit might be the worst player in the nba, aarmon isnt far behind. take off the rose colored glasses.

Babbitt has the skill to play in the NBA, But probably doesn't have the athleticism. You could see last night he has a lot of skill. Dribbles well, sees the court well, etc

i usually agree with u MM... but he's terrible!!!

Your both right. He's a terrible NBA PLAYER. There's a reason not everyone can play at the highest level of professional sports even with a promising collegiate career, the league's history is littered with busts who never panned out. Babbitt is nothing special in that respect, so I'm not sure why people are acting so surprised and outraged.

Chrissakes. Be happy that he'll never see the court and move on.

He had the 2nd highest verticle in the draft at 37.5, and that's still 10 inches lower than Elliot Williams.

If he can jump that high, he's probably the type that really has to gather himself to jump. In the NBA, you need to be a quick jumper. I agree that he does have a clumsy look to his movement. He's not a fluid athlete.

But still, remember the kid came out his 2nd year from a small school. He should be a senior in college now.

Fluidity and dexterity are arguably the most important athletic traits an NBA player can possess. Luke strikes me as the kind of guy that probably looks great in athletic testing when he doesn't also have to concentrate on dribbling a basketball. Just with my eyes he looks like he has a long loping gait when he runs and he really takes his time gathering himself when he goes up to shoot off the dribble or when he jumps.

Not exactly looking real good for his future, but then again I think the first thing I said when we drafted him was, "FML, Luke Babbitt?!"
