<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Just looking at the numbers for the comparision is rather misleading. Santana Moss had played 8 of his 16 Games against teams that were in the bottom 10 in Pass Defense in the
*snip*</div>but then wouldn't we have to consider the circumstances that led to those teams being in the top 10, or bottom 10. For example, the best pass defense(statistically) belong too...*drum roll* Green Bay. Now, does that have more to do with their dominating defensive backfield, or the fact that they A. their opponents averaged only 26.9 attempts per game which was 2nd only to the Saints. and B. gave up 125 on the ground to opposing teams.Would anyone honestly take the Packer's secondary over Chicago's, or Baltimores? I don't think the numbers are misleading at all. The only time I ever see this even being an issue is from Jets fans who are in denial. About Cooley, yes, he is overrated. but anyone who is familiar with Madden knows that TE's who have decent skills and abilities get a huge boost when put into the FB postion. I imagine his overall will come down to earth once you stick him at TE.</div>You do bring up a solid point, but Moss's Top 10 pass Defenses were Chicago and Tampa Bay, and Coles's Top 10 Pass Defenses are Tampa Bay, Carolina, Jacksonville, Baltimore, and New Orleans. The only one you could say isn't a top Pass Defense out of the bunch is the Saints and even so it would only be 4 games to 2 then. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>71 catches(third amongst all NFL TE's) 10.9 yards a clip,m 774 yards and 9 TD's are very impressive numbers for a "TE".Getting 1000 yards from the TE position is no ordinary feat. To put what I said into prospective, consider this. Tony Gonzalez is rated 97, and he's only went over 1000 yards twice his whole career.Make no mistake though, 98 is ridiculous, but thats just a position thing, cuz he's listed as FB. I personally feel, that as a TE, he should be rated 88. I need to see one more Pro Bowl calibur season before I put him in the 90's.</div>10.9 yards a clip is a poor number compared to that of the other Elite Tight Ends in the league. It is at least a half a yard per reception behind most Elite Tight Ends and almost 3 yards per reception behind that of Jeremy Shockey. He may get the ball alot, but he hasnt broken many long receptions when he does get it. In 71 receptions, he only has
6 Over 20 Yards. In comparision Jeremy Shockey has 12, Antonio Gates has 16, and Tony Gonzalez has 9. The fact that Gonzalez is a 97 and only has 2 1000 yard seasons just helps prove my point that somebody who had 750 yards does not deserve a 98. I would have no complaints if he was a 92-93 type rating as a Tight End but to be listed as one of the best players in the game, you need to prove yourself as one of the best players in the game instead of being barely on the grasp of Elite as Cooley currently is.Punisher, 78 is Fauria like. I have watched him play for a few years now and he is
NOTHING Special. He is a decent blocking Tight End with Stone Hands. There is a good reason why he was eventaully phased out of the New England offense for people like Ben Watson and Daniel Graham. That is why he is a
BACKUP Tight End and backups dont get an 88 rating (Unless they're name is Reggie Bush
).The only reason he was given an 85 this year is because they seem to think that Cooley is a Fullback and Fauria is going to start and once they fix making Cooley A tight end, I would expect them to drop Fauria's ranking some also (But as a consolation prize, they would likely increase Sellers rating)
