At now our magic number is 4.

We have this games to play:
Vs Wolves
Vs Jazz
Vs Spurs
Vs Pelicans

The Nuggets have:
AT Rockets
VS Pelicans
VS OKC
AT Dallas
AT OKC

So... all we need is a combination of 4. W or L all matters for us. The rockets have to count down to 3 tonight, if dont we are real fucked.

I will support the rockets tonight. Im living in Brasil, so its a little hard to get news from here, i wish i live in PDX. Im a real trail blazer fan. I watch every game, and i feel the pain when we lost. I really hope we can make the playoffs.

Thats my collection. I also have a CJ McCollum jersey, just like the lillard black jersey, no swingman (not yet) CJ Tshirt.

(NOTE: I know my english is not so good, in a conversation im better...)

i dont know what i want more.... to miss the playoffs and get 14th pick or make the playoffs, get swept, and get the 16th pick.....

I think I would rather just get knocked out and get a small tiny chance at a #1 pick.
im leaning towards that. i mean, we are just going to get blown out of the water if Nurkic isnt playing. if he does, it might help a little, but not enough to beat them. in all honesty, it would be better for us to miss the playoffs at this point.

I'm on the "I don't give a shit either way" train. If we make he playoffs cool, season gets extended a week and we may see Nurkic. If not, cool, we get a better draft pick. I like the direction we're headed either way.

How is this not obvious? Lose, miss playoffs and they don't rush Nurk back. Then a chance at number 1. Duh

When Nurk was playing and we were rolling, I thought it might be fun to see how we fare against the Warriors. We played them pretty well last year, and Nurk is a beast.

But without Nurk.... this just seems like a waste of time.

Exactly why I'd be OK with Denver passing us. I can't help but fear further injury if Nurk comes back quickly from his mini-fracture. If he has no choice but to rest it until training camp, I'll breathe a little easier.

We aren't getting the #1 pick or near it unless we trade for it. The difference between making the playoffs is miniscule and it really doesn't matter if we get the 14th or 16th...if Neil wants to move up he will orchestrate a trade and make it happen. I'm all for the playoffs. And when we make it, Nurk will be there

I fine with making the playoffs but that last part can't be seen one way or another at this point.

Not saying this type of situation would happen with our pick, but I remember Drummond going like 2 picks before the Meyers pick a few years ago. The 14th pick over the 16th could be bigger than you think. A higher pick to package with the others or players would be worth more too in a trade.

Why do you people think Nurkic is back for the playoffs? Did I miss a press release?

What if we take whoever at the 14th and then it turns out the guy that went 16th becomes a future all star

Bro did you just start a post out with "what if"?

What if Sacramento drafted Dame instead of T-Rob? What if we took Farried instead of Nolan?

I would have picked anyone over Nolan

Then tough shit. My sister would get what she wanted for Christmas and so would I. Then she'd be pissed that mine was better. In this scenario that is our fault if we take the wrong guy.

If we get the best pick we can, it is on us.

cute German girl
and unicorn rite after that:)

It's funny how this team came back under sea level after Nurk went down. I mean, they could show some heart while waiting for Nurk to help them beat GS in first round... But somehow they seem to be bunch of loosers again and I hate it. Don't want to see them in playoffs without Nurkic, I'm not gonna watch it, it's pointless. I really start to think - however stupid that is - this team don't deserve Nurk. I want (almost) all of them gone to screw other teams. Mayers is only consistent player, every other player's performance is flip of the coin every night. It's like having Batum everywhere, but without defence. It's horrible.

I think that's exactly his point. Picking 2 picks higher barely increases you're chances of coming out of the crapshoot that is the draft with a legit player. The difference between 14th and 16th is minuscule, if at all.

Hell, Nurkic was a 16th pick. Harkless was 15th. The players picked before them? Adreian Payne and John Henson. Hardly anything worth writing home about.

Also, look at last year. Maker, Prince, Papagiannis, Hernangomez, and Yabusele got drafted between picks 10 and 16. Maker, Papagiannis, and Yabusele were all projected at the very end of the first or in the 2nd round. Maker and Hernangomez were thought to be going 20th or lower.

Henry Ellenson, Skal Labissiere, Deyonta Davis, and Timothe Luwawu were all consensus top 15 picks.
Ellenson went 18th.
Luwawu went 24th
Labissiere went 28th
Davis went 31st.

So there's no point in getting 14th over 16th, because teams picking between 12th and 15th could very well make wild picks of players that we have no interest in. It'd be like Mathias Lessort, Rodions Kurucs, Isaiah Hartentstein all going between 10th and 15th, with Justin Jackson falling to us at 16th (Ellenson), Terrance Ferguson (Luwawu) falling to us at 20th, and John Collins (Davis) falling to us at 26th.

I agree with this...UNLESS the team has identified a player they REALLY want at 14 (or whatever) and they think they have to move up to get him. In that case, even though it's still somewhat of a crap shoot statistically speaking, you have to trust your intel, expert opinion, and gut, and go get him.

Yeah, moving up 2 spots isn't tough though. If whoever we want would be that much of a difference for us, them we shouldn't mind parting with something like the CLE pick.

So hopefully Denver loses tonight and we win tommorow...playoffs!
