The New Jersey Nets signed guard Mario West of the Maine Red Claws for the 20th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. West's call-up, his second, increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience, including players currently on assignment to their NBA D-League affiliates, to 97.

West (6-5, 210) has appeared in 42 games (all starts) this season for the Red Claws, averaging 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists. West has scored 20 or more points four times in March, and had a triple-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Fort Wayne on March 13.

A fourth-year pro out of Georgia Tech, West appeared in 156 regular games with the Atlanta Hawks from 2007 to 2010, averaging 0.8 points and 0.8 rebounds. West spent 11 games with the Red Claws last season, averaging 13.7 points and 4.1 assists before earning his first GATORADE Call-Up, to Atlanta.

Known for his athleticism and defense, West played in 103 games over four years at Georgia Tech. As a senior, he was the team captain and averaged 4.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 steals. West was a part of the Yellow Jackets' NCAA Tournament finalist team in 2004, and won the State Farm College Slam Dunk Contest as a senior in 2007.

West has joined the Nets, and should be available when the team plays at Philadelphia Friday night at 7 p.m. ET.
