aren't they supposed to make a decision on Armon and Patty? Hardly drama tho.

....and, in Quick's words, it was "ongoing" drama.

Rudy is all I can figure.

I really doubt it's Rudy.

Quick already said that Paul Allen was upset at KP for not informing him about Rudy's trade request before the deadline.

Greg is due for an extension...

Maybe he's giving the Blazers an ultimatum.

Occam's Razor says you're right. Quick trying to drum up listeners, web clicks, Tweeps etc.

Maybe Oden is demanding to be traded for CP3.

He doesn't deserve an extension. For the first time in his NBA career he ought to actually earn his millions and not base anything on his 'potential'

If he demands a trade that makes it easier to ship his ass out for Paul. Happy days.

Wouldn't make much sense either. He's likely going to be worth 4-times the value after this season than he is right now. So if you're G.O. you're waiting to finally get some minutes to get that big extension, not trying to get some tiny $5M/year contract for fear of not knowing what you'll get.

It's like your boss telling you that you're going to likely get a $5,000 bonus next month and you not telling your wife, but then asking her how much money she's OK with you taking out to go blow on some tools at Sears this weekend. Versus the response you would get when you wait a month until you get the $5,000 in hand and then you ask your wife how much you can go blow. You'll get two entirely different answers, and you might as well wait until the first has come to pass then say, "Show me the money".

Paul Allen announced his engagement to John Canzano. They are sailing to Canada for the nuptials on the yacht.

Hey, at least give me credit for thinking of something no one else named.

It's obviously Rudy. And that means that Quick is WAY overhyping things, (a) for this time of the year and (b) considering that Rudy has no leverage.

The only interesting thing would be if Rudy has actually sold his house in the US and burnt his passport.

I'm guessing, given the amount of games that he's missed, that Oden will have one of the "uninsured" contracts (like Roy and some other players have). I think this makes it less likely that some other team is going to sign him to a deal even close to the max, and I imagine if he is signed by a team to a 5-year deal, that years 4 and 5 will be team options. Portland would match that if Greg has a solid season. If he is injured again, however, Oden will be lucky to get 4 years/$30 million with a team option in the 4th year, which may even be high depending on how severe the hypothetical injury is next season.

Technically neither is a player. But in this scenario Canzano would be a playa.

Kwame Brown still was able to pull in some decent contracts based on his potential, and he never showed anything close to Oden.

I still think it's going to be about Rudy. Or maybe Comcast.

Gotta be Rudy's official trade demand.

Quick just said "an ongoing drama where a demand will be made."

90% chance it involves some low-level issue. (ie "Rudy still wants a trade!"

8% chance it is Oden doing something stupid. (ie "Give me a max extension, or trade me!)

2% Roy is having surgery and will miss the first half of the season (or worse).

I love how people have turned Oden into this player that's seeking a huge contract. It's funny.

We all knew that. Most of us just use the English translation when we refer to Canzano: beach.

Ed O.

:)

My theory: Ongoing drama? Jason Quick? So, what's Damon up to these days?

Wow--a bilingual double-pun? That is quite impressive, sir. Repped for cleverness.

If it's Rudy I will be disapointed. I want it to be something we all don't already know
