dang it, you are correct sir..see what happens when I try to go off memory, rather than look something up . Should have remembered that Rosenstein and Rat both start with R.
Yep, I've always counseled people to double check. It got me in trouble twice professionally. Yet, I still fall in that trap every once in a while. I attribute it to being human.

Trump fired Comey.

Let's not get into the weeds here.

Trump made this decision and it was obstruction of justice.

Trump fired Comey, correctly for Obstruction of Justice, Perjury, Misuse of Office, Leaking Classified Info...

As was his duty as President.

Next for Comey should be a long stint in prison.

Sounds like you are describing Trump. When will he go to prison?

It's been over a year and a half and I haven't even heard of a Comey investigation let alone indictment. When is that coming? Any day now?

One juror prevented Manafort from being guilty on all 18 counts. Seems like it could be a slam dunk if they want to retry him on all the other accounts. The key is, he wasn't found innocent on any count. but our president describes him as a good guy. Go figure

...^^^I don't agree with her stance that Manafort got caught only "because they were after Trump"...I just don't see the logic, especially since the 2 top guys in the investigation (Rosenstein and Mueller) are both longtime Republicans who have given thousands of dollars to their party...again, sorry, but I just don't go along with the narrative of many Trump supporters.

It was nice that she at least took the role of juror seriously and came up with a conviction, but it's concerning that she confessed that she purposely mislead her party affiliation and support of Trump.

Weird how all these conviction counts work.
Everything is beyond the statutes of limitation for the IRS. The guy testifying against Manafort was responsible for doing the tax filings? Isn't he responsible for doing it wrong if done wrong? But Mueller gives him immunity? It sort of seems like he screwed up the
Foreign earned income exclusions applicable.

This is 13 years ago, but since then he work for Trump. That is the crime that he was nail on. What a system you guys support.

I would wager all my money that Mueller knows the laws better than you do and as Manafort was found guilty on 8 counts and the other 10 only had one hold out. Are you against prosecuting criminals? It is common to give immunity to the lesser people to get the big fish and in this case, they caught the big fish.

Lol...yes, our judicial system got everything wrong.(rolls eyes)
And btw, weren't you the one who before the verdict was read, implied and asserted that many of us would be whining once Manafort was found INNOCENT?

...Derp.

I had hoped that the very pro-Trump juror coming out and owning the guilty verdict, despite potential threats, would make the verdict seem more credible to Manafort apologists but the spin continues. :breakdance:

No spin to it. Every charge is beyond the statutes of limitations for the IRS. These charges should have all been handled by the IRS
several years ago. The guy doing the taxes would be in hot water for doing them wrong under normal Due Process. So we get a special prosecutor to go after the tax man, give him immunity so they can bust the guy that knew Trump and hell with the statutes of limitation.

Man! anyone happy with this sort of sham for due process ought to be required to experience it fist hand. Still nothing on Trump though.

well call the Maytag man as your spin cycle seems to be breaking down. You aren't a lawyer and you certainly not an accountant so I'll trust Mueller over anything you try and spin.

Working for the pro Russian Ukranian politician and using the same banks used by the Russian mob in Cyprus to launder money is suspect...now the next trial in 5 weeks with a new jury will address obstruction and political interference....the IRS will definitely get their payback from the hidden assets Mannafort lied about...the IRS has been fooled before (see Al Capone) but this is about a Trump campaign manager ….the money trail was just the beginning...phase 2 will be more special counsel specific. Trump has painted himself into a corner whether folks want to support him or not...and rightfully so...the truth is the truth...why any American citizen would not want this corruption exposed is just Partisan head in the sand crap saying "I don't want to know" Mannafort met with the Russian spy at Trump tower...this is where it all began.

The juror said they threw out the testimony of Gates because they didn't find him credible and that they convicted based on the evidence. She said - I didn't want him to be guilty but he was - and if you listen to the whole interview she's clearly not a fan of the prosecution claiming they were napping at times and she wondered why they were even there if the prosecution didn't care that much.

Are you saying that the special prosecutor was able to create laws that don't or didn't exist for anyone else? Are you saying he shouldn't be prosecuted because he knew Trump? It's great there's nothing on Trump and hopefully it will stay that way, but why do you think this criminal should not be prosecuted?

Immunity for underlings has been used to get the big fish in criminal organizations forever, why is it suddenly so questionable to Fox news viewers?

If there's nothing to find on Trump, wonderful, we all win. The Clintons managed to survive the special prosecutor experience for a hell of a lot longer... I'm sure Trump will be just fine. After all, he hires the best people and he's, like, a really smart person.

Are you saying he shouldn't be prosecuted because he knew Trump?

No, I am saying he was prosecuted only because he worked for Trump. The IRS did not prosecuted him for these offenses and the
Statutes of limitations has long since expired for them to do so.

Are you saying that the special prosecutor was able to create laws that don't or didn't exist for anyone else?

Yes that is very nearly the case. If the taxes were not in order, and I expect they were not, then the tax man would be as wrong as Mannafort. But they gave him immunity so they could get his help in pressuring Mannafort on the offenses that have long expired on the IRS radar. 2005 has long past the Statutes of limitations. None of you guys will be nail for not doing your taxes perfectly for anytime in that decade. Two three years ago, maybe but your taxman, if you have one maybe the one that pays the collector unless you deceived him. Mannafort's tax man, could lie about it with immunity, in fact he was encouraged to compose.

The juror lady seems like she worked hard to do the right thing. But I think they were bamboozled by the prosecution.
Mannafort does not seem like a guy worthy of loosing any sleep over. I more than suspect he is dirty. But this process is a
disgrace to the Nation and the rule of law. No one deserves this sort of treatment.

I am now in favor of a Convention of the States to amend the Constitutions to prevent this sort of subterfuge to continue.

Again, the jury didn't use the "lie" from his tax man and there was plenty of other evidence. This system is set up for a man like Mannafort and the rest of his greedy buddies to fleece "Real Americans" and get away with it. He has access to the best lawyers who would've made the statute of limitation argument if it had merit. Any smart attorney is going to try to get off on a technicality first, it's the easiest way to avoid trial. And the judge was not doing the prosecution any favors. Mannafort knowingly lied on his taxes and committed bank fraud.

Where's your outrage for the incarceration disparity amongst minorities? They truly get screwed by the criminal justice system.

Well we do agree he's not worth losing sleep over, it's a start.

Well Spud, minorities are not involved in this case at all are they? But I have highlighted the total lack of due process involved here.
There is no reason at all that minorities will fair any better, they are just easier to screw.

I do not intend to argue my point with you, I just wanted to point it out, and I used you for that purpose.
Best wishes.

Not only that but I think they had 23 corroborating witnesses and tons of documents all corroborating the evidence.

LOL, a really smart man, LOL.
