“Some people may think it’s best for me being out of [Portland], getting out of that mode of being injured or Sam Bowie talk,” Oden said. “Some people are probably saying, ‘You owe the Blazers for four years.’
“I don’t know. For me, I just want to get out there and play. … I just want to get on the court and compete because that’s something I’ve been missing the past two years. It’s kind of brought back the love of the game through humbling you, Oden said of his injuries.... You go out there and do it. Some people might not work as hard on their game. But when it’s taken away for two years that’s all you want to do is go back on the basketball court and do whatever you can.”
Sounds like his passion is renewed, great to hear. I honestly think the rumors of him being sick of Portland are just that. Dude just want's to suit up and be a part of the action.

“Who wouldn’t want to play with those guys?” Oden said of the Blazers. “Watching them, it’s definitely a fun atmosphere and it looks like they are having a good time. They’re still winning. That’s always a plus.”

DUH!!! Portland has made Oden a millionaire for doing nothing but sitting on the bench. It's about time we started getting our money back.

hopefully he gets healthy and hopefully he stays healthy and hopefully he signs a contract here in that order

No Portland made Oden a millionaire for being 7 feet tall and being able to cover the paint like nobody's business. And were gonna continue to pay him, because the reward for this long term investment is too great to sell short.

Keep beating that drum.

Maybe someday, someone will think it's clever.

A very positive article. Man, I hope Oden can give us at least one Walton-esque season. It would be worth any amount of money.

Hang in there, Greg!

I'd love to see a starting front line of Oden, Aldridge, Wallace, that be awesome with a healthy Oden. Guess time willl tell

Go real big, Camby, Oden, Aldridge, Wallace, and Batum.

I'm at the point now with Greg where I'd be happy to see him be successful where ever he is. If we traded him or he decided to play somewhere else, I'd be great to see him stay healthy and do well.

Wow, you must be a masochist. It would be like a repeated punch in the gut watching Greg become an elite player on another team. If he does well, I NEED it to be in Portland.

Remember how hard everyone took Jermaine O'Neal being an all-star? It would be like that x10

That's become my POV as well.

That would be amazing. Utterly amazing.

I'll wish Oden well anywhere he goes, just because he seems like a nice enough person. Anyone who doesn't strike me as malicious or a jerk, I default to hoping they do well. But it would really feel bad, as a fan, to see him flourish on another team.

Ya, Sheed is the only player I can remember I didn't want to do well after being traded, but I think it would be a huge mistake trading Oden.
