Marc Stein: Terry most likely out.

If we resign Nurk, Terry needs to hit the bricks. He clearly doesn't understand how to tool an offense to his strengths when the going gets tough in the Playoffs. We've seen the Clipps & Pels flummox him with double teaming Dame, which on its own should be a fireable offense 2 playoffs in a row.

Whether you like him or not, it's really tough to argue that Stotts is a good match for this roster.

lol, yeah, no wars (so far) but we have a country divided more than at anytime in my 63 years of life and a president that acts like an 8th grade bully and his childish name calling. Great choice you made.

Gee, I didn't see that coming...Heh heh, youth.

Exactly. We could well have swept OKC if we played them. Probably not, it's tough to beat a team 8 times in a row. But I have no doubt we would have won that series.
I wanted the Spurs; OKC was my second choice.

It would be interesting to hear takes from coaching candidates what their vision for the Blazers would be (with this roster) if they had full control.

Would have loved to see:

PG: Turner
SG: Dame
SF: Harkless/Aminu (who ever shoots quicker)
PF: Collins
C: Nurk

Bench:
CJ
Baldwin (for balance on D)
Aminu/Harkless
Davis

Both Freeman and Casey think neither he nor Neil are even on the hot seat.

If you listen to Olshey answer, when someone asked him about Paul Allen, you can see how nervous he was for a while and then he turns to Stotts saying: "Right Terry?". Like kids, like seven years old kids.
Just from this few seconds I would say that Paul Allen meeting was intense but they saved their heads with Neil talking and Terry's really really sad face.
I hope Allen told them to do something this summer, but I'm afraid he gave them another season.
Hope I'm wrong.

I'm selling my seat to the division championship party for a bag of funyuns and a soda to be named later.

We have to change our offense and quit reacting to how other teams play. We need a coach that is able to force teams to play our style. My opinion we should be running a slow down offense through high post. You can still run some ISO’s but you can’t rely solely on them because come playoff time it’s been proven Lillard can be stopped by throwing 2-3 defenders and forcing him to give up the ball.

Run on offense that runs in transition, runs secondary breaks, and tech players how to create out of those situations via cuts to the basket, screens, and ball movement. If theres a set that megs to be run, there needs to be action going to the rim. We need to play an inside out style.

Olshey had to blame someone and if he doesn't fire Stotts, people are going to be looking at him. I'm not a Stotts fan but it isn't all his fault either.

Turner...Meyers... that's $28,000,000 for so little.
If you counted the average minutes they had totaled, times 82 plus 4, the value would be equal to a Federal government budget item.

I'm not sure this team will ever run well in transition (although with Harkless and Aminu they should). But, it does seem funny that we have several gifted passers (ET, Nurkic, Collins) and we have decided for some reason to not use their passing abilities in the offense.

Thats how you score with Ball movement instead of 1vs1 ISO Shit Stotts

when the blazers do run an offense, and do pass, they are pretty good at it. Just that they seem to be easily rattled and also have inconsistent offense from 3/5th of the starting 5.

Why couldnt this team run? When they decide to theyre very good at it.

In our offense, Livingston, a poor 3pt shooter, would've stayed in the corner.

We don't screen for each other like this, and we definitely don't make rim cuts like Livingston just did.

sometimes it's like the team runs half an offense. Only 3's.

They don't utilize Nurks skillset (passing and in the paint) or CJ's mid-range game.

But the biggest issue is that they rely too much on 3 point shots from people who really aren't good at shooting 3's.

Yup, but that's a staple of Terrys coaching.

As the days pass, with no word of a firing, I'm a little bit discouraged.

Welcome to my world! For those of us who saw the light a few years ago instead of last week, we will just keep advocating for change, any change, every February Trade Deadline, every June draft, every July Free Agent week, every end-of-preaseason when teams dump good players.

You and I are up against a brick wall consisting of a talentless trade-challenged GM with a booming voice, an inflexible Coach with an unwinnable system, and scared-to-walk-outside status quo posters.

I long ago gave up advocating particular changes, which change month to month. Now I skip details and address the psychological fears of all these authority-dependent snowflakes who think the sky is falling when they think of the concept of change.

I have been thinking about that lately, that there is a fear of change, a fear of making a mistake.

Which is a great way to accomplish....very little. If one is afraid to make mistakes, success rarely follows.

It really is unbelievable... the season was a complete and utter failure... DEAD LAST IN NBA IN ASSISTS, only team to get swept in playoffs even tho we had homecourt, AND BEING DOWN AT LEAST 15 POINTS IN 3 OF 4 GAMES... and there is no accountability!!! Neil is condescending to fans telling us the coaching was great, Dame/CJ will never be broken up... basically no changes will be made... unreal

The only reason I see is that Dame doesn't seem to like to push the ball, and he is the main player. Given the youth of the players, I see no physical reason why they couldn't.

Completely agree. I think that is more of Dame's influence than anything else.

I think Paul gives Olshey one more chance to improve the team. Basically until the next mid-season trade deadline. Same with Stotts. Depending on how the team is doing, Stotts probably gets one more playoffs.
