Mark Mason makes me feel like a dirty, dirty boy....or

Not everything you think has to be posted on a public forum.

Well, I hoped to get some validation on something I've often wondered about when at the games and hear this. I hope to start a serious discussion, but I think my OP was poorly worded. Hoped to keep it light and fluffy, but came across as insane and juvenile. Oh well.

Maybe creepy wasn't the right word. And I don't get your cat comment, because I was talking about kitties.

I don't think the guy who runs a cat Facebook page and talks about going to cat shows is going to all the sudden be like a DJ at a strip club.

How you react to what he says (his inflection barely changes unless he's being serious about a topic or he's just reading generic stuff) says more about you than it says about him.

boomer/gen x/old millenial instead of kid.

I don't think kids use old fart forums unless it's reddit.

Please keep in mind, I'm almost in my 50's, anyone younger than 40 is a kid.

I used to listen to Mark's show on KEX, always seemed like a nice guy, his fighting and recovering from his health problems were inspiring. Always talked about his wife. My biggest problems with him is he's been a 49er season ticket holder for years and his love of Saabs.

Nice guy, loves his family, not a perv.
Niners! Gotta love him more now!

I think many are missing the point entirely and just taking the opportunity to insult me in an attempt to make themselves appear superior. Sadly, since the concept flew right over their heads, and judging by the reactions, it is clear they are very base and simple creatures.

So you create quite possibly the worst thread (Close to how bad your first one was) of the summer. Then after a few people comment on exactly how awful it is, and point out exactly how decent of a person Mark Mason is, you double down and then start insulting people who have resoundingly responded negatively to your thread.

Then you call your post Classy? And Insightful?

However, when I post such a classy and insightful series of thoughts and legitimate musings of a standout aspect of the arena experience (albeit in a playful, silly and intentionally self-deprecating way), it obviously denotes a highly advanced, yet singularly and markedly warped sense of humor.

I think you are the one who is misunderstanding the basic premise here. Mark Mason is an icon within the Blazer fan experience and has been for over 30 years. It would probably do you best to delete your thoughts on this matter completely but that ship has sailed and you ain't gonna live it down now. At this point you simply look like a scrub and weirdly incompetent fanboy that seems to be screaming for attention.

In the Future you might want to stay away from posting negative things on a Blazer board about pillars of the team and then criticizing those who will undoubtedly come to their defense. Unless you truly are just a loser troll which it seems you are. Of course your stay here will be short lived if you continue these kind of posting habits.

Social media and more importantly, the cell phone, have taught a generation of humans a side of selfishness, disrespect, and gross overindulgence that not only surprises me...it painfully
displays the reality of our cultural erosion. The mere idea that a respected member of the Blazer community is casually talked about in such a disrespectful manner is a sad reminder of
this.

I can literally call up the sounds of Mark announcing so many iconic Blazer players. I choose to not diminish that.

Well, sure enough and that's why I stated that it may just be me, didn't I?

No specifics, huh? I'll be specific: I'm 46 and can certainly switch from being serious to silly, especially on a forum on the internet. It's not as though my online communication is representative of my in-person persona or communication.

What was my first topic of the Summer? Check your logbook. Also, why are you taking this so seriously? Have you heard of a joke topic? Do you have any hair left? Or is it all whisked away by the amount of things whooshing over your head? And are you blind to sarcasm?

And that's why not a single person here agreed with you.

Not that they would admit anyway. And there's the sea of lurkers and their silent cries of reverent respect, all wordlessly mouthing their confirmation of my astute observations of Mr. Mason.

I love his voice and how he announces players and especially in their native language and such. I think you guys just aren't capable of humor, unless it's a very particular brand of humor. Don't you like Sven and Ole jokes? Most of those are quite blue and risque.

Interesting look. Trying to gaslight someone into thinking that their stance was somehow age related and that the very warranted response by multiple people was out of line. Usually Jokes are funny. When you have to explain that what you are saying is a joke or sarcasm it's usually best to not say it or use green font.

Jokes tend to be funny. Your comment was neither funny, nor humorous in any way. The only thing it succeeded in was painting yourself in a bad way, and instead of owning it you almost doubled down on it.

What's next, you don't like the way Bill Schonely said "bingo bango bongo" because it made you feel funny in your special place?

Anyone who doesn't see the obvious joking nature of the thread and OP must be particularly blind when it comes to such things. Let me ask you, you ACTUALLY thought someone was seriously calling Mr. Mason a diagnosed pervert and took offense? I'm genuinely surprised by that.

If you are around 10 people and of the group there is 1 person who is a red head and you look to your left and see no one with red hair, and look to your right and see no one with red hair...chances are you're the one with red hair.

Now THIS is offensive, wrong and talk about childish! Haha. Special place? You're really going to talk about my special place feeling funny? And whether something is funny or not is a matter of opinion. You don't speak for everyone. I showed every member of my immediate and non-immediate family (my in-laws and even their friends and acquaintances) this thread and they all fell into a fit of apoplexy at the absurdity of it and nearly choked out laughing at the posts therein, especially the offended and dramatic replies. Not only that, half the employees at a Fred Meyers that I frequent laughed harder than I've seen a group of misfits laugh in a LONG time and most of them spit out the food they were consuming in the break room that I went into in which to generously share this comedy GOLD!

One little guy, we'll call him Pedro, ran up the wall to do a wall-flip while he was chortling with tears in his beady eyes and failed halfway up and ended up crashing down on his head and had to be taken to the ER. I regret that, but I had to find out if this stuff was funny or not.

Brilliant! And does the team still have that red-headed dancer from the past few years?

I'll take "things I didn't actually do" for 500 Ken.

Depends, there was one about 25 years ago that was easy on the eyes.

I truly wish I could find a clip online of him saying this line, getting back on topic. If it could be played for all to hear, you would see what it is that I am talking about. To be clear, I don't think Mark is a perv or maybe I should say, no more than any of us, but I think it's an unintentional tone that he has.

Id just like to say, as an oft misunderstood poster, sarcasm and angst look much the same in words online. Im still learning that. my advise is I wouldn't assume anyone ever knows your intent. Make your intent known and don't allow others to assume.

I'm talking about in just the last couple of years. I'm too lazy to go and find photos of the squad. Aren't most of them easy on the eyes? Or are we talking particularly easy on the eyes? I wouldn't really know because I don't take much notice with the hottest wife ever sitting next to me. When I see the dancers, I'm just reminded that I'm very fortunate and lucky to have such a gorgeous creature like that as my wife at my side enjoying the game with me. AAAAAAAND she can speak eloquently, is very clever and has a sharp wit....and became a HUGE fan of the team. Life is grand.

That is GREAT advice and very well, put. I have noticed your posts are quality from the beginning.

Lol. You are very new here. Ill be the first to admit my posts are often far from quality. This forum will back me up on that 100%. :)

Well don’t assume people on the internet have the baseline intelligence necessary to decipher sarcasm to begin with. A realist at least would look at their audience.

I'll tell you one thing.... Mark Mason wouldn't have taken Yang over Cooper Flagg, and for that he should be ostracized.

Seems I'm not the only one who thought this?
It's you.

Nice guy, loves his family, not a perv.

You post some weird fucking thread's.

Please leave.

I feel like a dirty dog reading your posts.

This has to be Tunchi lol

Its you and this was a huge waste of fucking time.

God I'm glad I grew up when I did..

Maybe you should go back and apologize?

I must say, I am very disappointed in the forum.
I thought FOR SURE this would be my most liked post ever and would rack up the numbers in record time.

I think the forum is losing a step.
