This disaster currently out at least the next four days with a lat strain will be stealing a tremendous sum of money for the next two years. A 34 year old guy breaking down who simply cannot stay healthy. A guy whose numbers just continue to decline. I've been saying it for a little while now but you cannot convince me he wasn't juicing earlier in his career.

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.

And just think maybe A-rod, and CC will be back next year. Three coins in a fountain!

I wish it was like that Twilight Zone episode where I could wish Tex into the corn field.

No problem guys, Cashman will just get us a few more washed up 220 hitters to fill the void.

How about trading Tex for something. Very possible.......unless
Cash man gave him NTC. Ugh!

Tex is owed like $45 million the next two years. Not only are the teams willing to take that on limited who would want to do so for a declining player who can't stay healthy?

Much like CC, I'm afraid we're stuck with him.

There is always some lunatic GM out there willing......

2 more years sounds like eternity when your bats anemic....!

Or when your a wannabe Emperor in the last 2 yrs of a term....Obuma...! Gee Golly the analogy fits.....!

I wanted to see Tex in Pinstripes back in 07 & prior, when we wound up with Doug Mientkiewicz instead....!

BUT-

I can't help like many feel Tex's past was mired in steroids. His last go round in 2012 when prescribed (non-anabolic roids) was to similar to Manny Ramirez's demise in L.A. when his tests found high amounts of prednisone in his blood. If I'm of the proper assumption, Manny was taking prednisone, (a female hormone) to mask the high amounts of testosterone in his system....?

Secondly- anyone playing in or during Canseco World, will always be questionable IMO.....

Someone prove me wrong, please....

...can't prove you're wrong anymore than you can prove you're right.

...Joey Bats had the same wrist injury as Tex...was he doing PEDs too?...are all the players with calf strains and hamstring pulls also guilty of PED use?
...it seems like every time a player has a great year, the PED use card is played...and whenever a player declines for whatever reason and/or falls prey to injuries, the PED use card is played.

...no offense, but it is almost like a conspiracy theory or lynch mob mentality.

The Yankees are Cashman's rest home for over the hill old ball players. Tex has an ingrown hair and on the DL for probably 60 days

No offense taken at all 59, I can't prove his use or non-use either way.....googled it, didn't find anything substantial.....

was more or less wondering, if someone knew something I or google didn't....the reason I said "someone prove me wrong please"....and your reply is more than sufficient, what I thought, no proof either way....

and Yep, I agree the PED card is over-played, yet didn't want to sound forthcoming, or in denial either way.....no offense meant here either....!

...matts, that's one of the facets of the PEDs era. We'll never know for sure one way or the other as to who used them and who didn't. Very unfortunate that we as fans even have to deal with this. It is the byproduct of sheer greed among both the owners and the players...but sadly, it's the fans' cross to bear.

I agree, perfect example McGwire broke down a lot & he was a user. Griffey broke down a lot & most people think he was clean. Go figure.

Very valid points, thanks 59, and the caveman too.....ya' know the one reg on our beloved boards, who's real pic looks like B.C. the Neanderthal...

Indeed it is our cross to bear. I'm glad I'm not a HOF voter, for this era .....

I've collected old newspapers of major sporting events since i was a kid. I've got every Yankee newspaper of every W.S. win, from 61 on, and half those have every single game. Plus every record breaker, every 3,000 hit of any player. Every A.S. game induction paper. ****

My point, I was going thru the papers, the other day, & purged over 100 newpapers of McGwire, Sosa, and Bonds historic HR's from #61 on. I had a ton of those shit rags. I couldn't believe I didn't toss them years ago. I cannot give them away. Then I realized they're shit, just no good for nothing shit.....so in the dumpster they went.

(Can't give away most of their cards either, tho' I will keep their rookie cards, & that's it. I donated all the others to the baseball card memorabilia store. They too cannot sale them, so they're trying to give them away)......

My cross to bear, a good chunk of memorabilia tossed in the trash.....! But in more ways than this truly it is our cross to bear.

****Got Some real old ones My Grand Pa gave me, which are brittle as a cold maple leaf. Those are priceless sentimental gems. A few of DiMaggio/Williams, early Mantle/Berra articles, and of course the papers of the games by the Galoopin Galoots & Larrupin Lous newpapers.

I hear you Rob, I've also got quite a few rookie cards like Manny Rameriz, Rafeal Palmeiro, Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire & several others that could now be used as toilet paper. Yeah the rough kind. What a f'king waste.

It's a hard pill to swallow isn't it Rick, I hear ya'....downright painful....!

I feel like I'm a kid again, who just found out my MLB hero robbed a bank....(not right now, just saying of the Steroid Era)....Damn it was hardest to toss most of my Clemens stuff tho' I did it....Rocket Man too, not going to make it to the moon.

Of all the Roiders, other than Canseco, was Beltre. His supposed positive 2003 testing was splashed all over L.A. papers back then. Beltre in a contract year in 04, (which makes me wonder, if this old list is legit, and failed test in 03, when did MLB get the results of the testing?)...

for one when I look at this list, I don't believe for a minute Roberto Alomar ever took roids, I don't see it in his stats or change of play.....

Much like Griffey Jr. We will never know, I'd love to put it behind me for good. If that is possible...?

http://sportshumor23.wordpress.com/...ers-who-tested-positive-for-steroids-in-2003/

Beltre damn near couldn't leave L.A. fast enough, after a 04 outbreak season, of:

Year HR's SLG OPS Team
2003: 23 .424 .714 Bums
2004 48 .629 1.017 Bums
2005 19 .413 .716 Seattle

I can clearly see how NO ONE is going to hit 40 HR's at Safeco, yet did he test positive in 04, NO, but- was he masking juicing? In the court of the public & press, they hung him. Tho' their is NO evidence that says he did, in 04.

A nightmare for MLB fans....!

To the best of my knowledge this guy never failed a drug test either........

1995 = 16, 444, 815
1996 = 50, 637, 1.034
1997 = 18, 469, 863

Mr. Brady Anderson

...why would you bring up Brady Anderson?

...Anderson's ONE banner year came in 1996...his last decent year was 1999...his career ended in 2002....mandatory steroid testing did not begin till 2003.

...edit; check that, testing was agreed upon in Nov of 2003...actual testing began the following Spring of 2004.

I didn't know when actual testing began but I only really brought up Anderson because Rob was questioning who was & wasn't doing something.

...but all of the player he mentioned played during a time when there WAS testing.

...Anderson's 1996 season made him an early poster child for steroid use.

Its amazing that 2nd picture, its like looking in the mirror.

But all kidding aside how did he lose that power in 1997 only a year later.
